The 27-year-old has impressed in Germany since arriving at the Red Bull Arena in 2015, and could be set for a return to England in 2018.

According to ESPN, the two Premier League clubs sent scouts to watch the Hungarian international in action during the 2-0 loss against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Gulacsi has revealed he left Anfield in 2013 in an attempt for first team football.

He has since become one of the most sought-after goalkeepers since leaving Britain – earning 14 caps for the Hungarian national side since making his debut in 2014.

According to German magazine Kicker, Guacsi is the top-performing keeper in the Bundesliga.
