DYCHE COURAGE

West Ham chiefs have made Burnley boss Sean Dyche their top target should they decide to sack Slaven Bilic

Bilic has been under pressure this season, with his side hovering just above the relegation zone and the Hammers have won just two of their nine Premier League games this season

West Ham chiefs are lining up Burnley boss Sean Dyche to replace under-fire manager Slaven Bilic, according to reports.

Bilic’s team won their first game in four after staging an unlikely win against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, scoring two quick-fire goals that sparked West Ham’s revival in a 3-2 win.

The Daily Mail claims that the West Ham board will evaluate the Hammers performance against Crystal Palace before deciding on the Croatian’s future.

Chiefs David Sullivan and David Gold were concerned with the disastrous showing put on by the East-end side during their 3-0 home defeat against newly-promoted Brighton.

The board want to see evidence that Bilic can lead West Ham out of their current crisis before fully backing him.

However, should Bilic fail to convince, it has been reported that Dyche, who has also been linked with Everton, has been discussed as a potential successor.

And after the Hammers’ last home defeat, Bilic admitted he did not know if he has the faith of his bosses.

He said: “I don’t know. All that I can say is that I am the manager of the team and I take full responsibility.

“I am very experienced I have been there before, we talk about bouncing back last season, that is all I can say – what is going to happen?

“It’s not in my hands, like it wasn’t before the game.

“On one hand I believe in myself and in my work and in my team – we’ve showed that in the last six games.

“On the other hand, you lose 3-0 to Brighton and you can’t be happy about anything.”
