De Vrij’s Lazio contract expires in June – meaning he could be available cheaply in January if talks do not progress.
Liverpool boss Klopp is desperate to finally sort out the centre of his defence after two years at the helm.

Van Dijk has played three league games since his failed move but is unlikely to remain at St Mary’s for next season.
