This is incredibly important.
Manchester City have been swatting away their opponents with consummate ease so far this season.

And in some style too.
But it’s not just the way they’ve dismantled teams that makes them so appealing.
Over the last couple of months, I personally have noticed just how endearing so many of their current crop are.
IS YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM RUINED? THEN DREAM TEAM WEEKENDER IS JUST THE CURE!
So it got me thinking… has Pep Guardiola assembled the most likeable squad in Premier League history?
Here’s just nine reasons – or nine players – why there might be a case for that claim…
BENJAMIN MENDY
Now everybody’s favourite character in England, Mendy is what Mario Balotelli would be if he knuckled down.
Mendy is the new undisputed banter merchant of social media and once dressed up as a City canteen worker to trick Nicolas Otamendi.
The widest smile in the Premier League.
SERGIO AGUERO
Name a more devastating finisher in Premier League history… we’ll wait.
Aguero could publicly murder 90 new-born kittens and still go down in folklore for producing the single greatest moment in Premier League history.
Aguerooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
DAVID SILVA
The man they call ‘Merlin’ plays the game exactly the way we all aspire to – effortlessly.
Silva exudes class and composure and Guardiola holds him in the same regard as Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
The king of the slide-rule pass.
VINCENT KOMPANY
Simply the truest gent in the game.
Kompany is not only captain fantastic but just an exemplary bloke, slamming extortionate ticket prices and putting the fans first at whatever cost.
One thing’s for sure; you want him on your side.

BERNARDO SILVA
The Portuguese whizzkid signed as long-term replacement to namesake David was the beating heart of a Monaco side that won the hearts of football fans across Europe last season.
Bernardo is still waiting to make his presence truly known at City, but anyone who appreciates footballing pedigree wants him to do well.
LEROY SANE
The poster boy of Germany’s next generation, Sane is a world beater capable of getting into the Ballon d’Or reckoning in the coming years.
He recently became the quickest Premier League player in history after his blistering 22.05mph sprint against Chelsea a couple of weeks ago.
KEVIN DE BRUYNE
Goalscorers are regularly described as clinical, but De Bruyne is owed that description too for the way he creates chances for his team-mates.
The baby-faced assassin is the most effective player in the Premier League at the moment and he does it seemingly without breaking sweat.
De Bruyne x Silva in the City midfield = pure footballing porn.
ILKAY GUNDOGAN
Gundogan could, and maybe still will, be the most natural heir to Xavi Hernandez’s midfield metronome throne but his heartbreaking injuries are threatening to derail a brilliant career.
But, you know, absences makes the heart grow fonder, and the German getting back fit and firing will be a sight for a sore eyes when it eventually happens.
JOHN STONES
England’s prodigal son constantly earmarked as the ‘next Rio Ferdinand’, Stones is arguably the most eye-catching defender on the planet.
Has the highest pass accuracy in the Premier League this season, so can we all just lay off him so he can blossom into that player he’s threatening to be?
So there you go.
City may cheese people off with their obscene spending from time to time, but the personnel they’ve bought in are making it very difficult for us to hate.
Even Manchester United fans might have to accept that.
Philippe Coutinho or Henrikh Mkhitaryan? Why not both?
