Arsenal are facing the prospect of losing talisman Alexis Sanchez for absolutely diddly squat next summer.
So naturally, it’s probably time to start scouting for replacements.
And bizarrely the Gunners have received a glowing recommendation from a former Chelsea star.
Ex-Blues defender Alex has urged Brazilian compatriot Lucas Moura to join Arsenal after being left in the cold by PSG.
The 25-year-old has been dislodged by international team-mate Neymar after his world record move from Barcelona in the summer.
Alex told L’Equipe: “I would like to see him [Lucas] at Arsenal. They play cleaner football, more technical.
“He had contacts, I believe. That would be a good option for him this winter.”
Sanchez is in the final year of his Gunners deal and has made it clear he will not be signing a new one.
And PSG are are convinced his friendship with former Barcelona team-mate Neymar will help them seal a free transfer next summer.
That could put Edinson Cavani’s future in doubt, particularly after the Uruguayan clashed with his new team-mate over penalty duties last month.
The Parisians’ hopes of adding Sanchez to their ranks went on the back burner when they took Kylian Mbappe on loan with a guaranteed £162m transfer fee next year.
But now PSG believe they can get around Financial Fair Play by selling Cavani and bringing in Sanchez for nothing.
