Jack Wilshere is back, folks.
The forgotten man of English football has been given a rare opportunity in Arsenal’s starting line-up for their Europa League clash against BATE Borisov this evening.
And midfielder has fully grasped Arsene Wenger’s decision by showing us all exactly what he’s capable of.
The England international played a full 90 minutes last week in the Gunners’ Carabao Cup win over Doncaster, and was given the nod alongside the likes of youngsters Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles for the game in Belarus.
And the injury-prone star was at the centre of Arsenal’s attacking play in the first-half, setting up Theo Walcott for the opener with a wonderful Wilshere-esque run and cross.
Having received the ball from the wing, Wilshere elegantly controlled the ball and turned to play a nice one-two with Olivier Giroud, before running into the box and crossing for the grateful Theo Walcott to head home.
As you’d expect, fans were quick to lavish praise on the long-time favourite.
