C’mon, admit it.
You had no idea who Maxim Choupo-Moting was before the start of the season, and you probably don’t know much about him now.
Stoke’s newest hero – who scored twice against Manchester United at the weekend in a show-stopping performance – joined the Potters from Bundesliga side Schalke as a free-agent over the summer.
And brilliantly, the Cameroon international has never cost a single penny in transfer fees in his career.
Talk about a bargain who’s worth their weight in gold?
He proved to be a right handful for United, becoming the first player to score against Jose Mourinho’s side this season as Stoke secured a well-earned point in a 2-2 draw.
Starting life with Hamburger SV, the German-born forward has also played for Nurnberg and Mainz before making a name for himself (in his homeland, at least) for Schalke.
He even formed a useful partnership with a certain Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, before the emergence of Guido Burgstaller.
But he scored a measly three goals last year, one of them from the spot.
So not exactly prolific, eh?
He left Germany to very little fanfare in June and made few ripples when he joined Stoke.
But he could just turn out to be one of the signings of the season if he continues his fine start to life at Stoke.
Remember the name (but maybe write it down, first).
