Everyone is laughing at Danny Welbeck’s follow-up to Alexandre Lacazette’s goal against Bournemouth

The Gunners striker seemingly missed an open goal after the Frenchman doubled his side's lead

Danny Welbeck is probably one of the most likeable footballers in the Premier League.

He comes across well, seems like he enjoys playing the game and it’s always good to see him on the field during a career blighted by injuries.

However, it’s fair to say he isn’t the most clinical of strikers in the world.

And that attribute was out in full force after eagle-eyed fans spotted Welbeck seemingly missing an open goal from one yard out as he followed up team-mate Alexandre Lacazette’s goal for the Gunners against Bournemouth.

Welbeck had already put the Gunners ahead before the Frenchman struck, but it was Dat Guy Welbz’s follow-up that had a few fans laughing.

Check out the follow-up in the video below (at the 00:52 mark, for the lazy)

There’s nothing more satisfying than slamming the ball back into the net after your team had scored, but Welbeck’s attempt left a lot to be desired.

There it goes, high into the stands. ItΒ could have been deliberate, but if not it’s not a great look…

In fairness to Welbeck, he had a very,Β very good game, and if he carries on like this we can surely expect him to be on the plane to Russia next summer.
