Ross Barkley clears up confusion about transfer deadline day move

The Everton midfielder was linked with a move to Spurs and Chelsea but ended up staying at the club

Ross Barkley had a tough time of it on transfer deadline day.

He had reportedly travelled all the way up to London to have a medical with Chelsea, only to bail when he heard of Spurs’ interest.

While Barkley put to bed any rumours about a medical at Chelsea, he did leave the door open for a January exit.

The 23-year-old, who is struggling from hamstring injuries at the moment, is out contract in the summer.

From January he’ll be able to talk to clubs about a free transfer away from Everton.

But, regardless of his future, it’s refreshing to see a footballer talking out on social media to clear up any rumours.
