The former Manchester United star has struggled to make an impact with the Serie A team and will be allowed to leave for the right price

Ravel Morrison has been handed the chance to revive his fading career – in Mexico of all places.

The former Manchester United wonderkid will be allowed to leave Lazio for the right deal and FC Atlas are interested in snapping him up.

They are willing to make him one of the highest paid players in the Mexican league.

Morrison was on loan at QPR last season but only managed one start before heading back to Italy.

Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp was looking at a loan deal earlier in the window but no deal was struck, leading to interest from Central America.

He has two years left on his current deal with Lazio but is unlikely to get regular football in the Italian capital after two frustrating seasons.

Morrison was one of United’s brightest future prospects when he was in their youth team.

And former team-mate Jesse Lingard revealed earlier this year that Morrison was even more talented than £89m-midfielder Paul Pogba.

He said: “Even at 18 nobody could tackle him and he scored goals and produced skills you shouldn’t be able to at that age.

“In the Youth Cup every one of his performances was above 8/10, you knew he’d be a top player.”
