Trophies come easy to Zinedine Zidane, who’s won as many pieces of silverware at Real Madrid as he has lost games.
But the Frenchman won’t have had many easier chances to add to his collection than the opportunity presented to Madrid tonight.
The Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu 2017 will see Madrid host Fiorentina in the annual competition to honour former president Santiago Bernabeu.
Unsurprisingly Madrid, who host the tournament every year, have won the trophy more than any other side.
Madrid are looking to lift a 12th consecutive Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu, having played the likes of Galatasaray, Sporting and Anderlecht in the final.
The competition has been running since 1979, although there was no game held in 2014 due to Madrid’s participation in the UEFA Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.
Madrid last lost the final in 2004 when Liga MX side Club Universidad Nacional sneaked a 1-0 win.
Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Inter Milan are the only other clubs to have lifted the trophy more than once, with Inter last doing so in 2001.
Zidane will likely give a game to some of his younger fringe players, such as Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez, with Madrid taking on Valencia on Sunday.
As an interesting side note Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego, will be in the Fiorentina squad after signing from Genoa.
Like father, like son?

- ADD TO BETSLIP: Tuchel next Chelsea boss, 6/4
“Last night he was 14/1 to be the next Prem boss to go – now our traders have been forced to slash him to just 6/4.”
“And with Thomas Tuchel hovering that price will only go one way.”
