We’ve seen the future. There’s a lad at Everton who’s gonna be a right player. Oh, what? He’s 31? We never would have guessed.
Wayne Rooney joined the 200 club last night after bringing up his double century of Premier League goals against none other than Man City.
As a Man United player for 13 years the goal would have tasted that extra bit sweet for Rooney, who now has two goals in two Premier League games for Everton.
Having been booed every time he touched the ball Rooney made sure to take it all in when he scored, and he couldn’t resist having a bit of fun after the game either.
Rooney took to Twitter to post a message to his adoring City fans, accompanied with a picture of him celebrating the strike.
It’s heart warming to see so many City fans responding with peace signs in these times of trouble and strife.
If your experienced a strong sense of deja vu upon seeing Rooney scoring against City you weren’t the only one.
Spare a thought for the three City fans who have been sitting in exactly the same spot for Rooney goals four years apart.
Unfortunately for Wazza his goal wasn’t enough to claim all three points for Everton, with Raheem Sterling rescuing a draw for Pep Guardiola’s side.
But we’re sure the fact he p***** off a fair few City fans would have helped him sleep well last night.
