Real Madrid fans basically put their team 1-0 in the Spanish Super Cup second leg this afternoon.
The Bernabeu faithful superbly welcomed Gerard Pique to the Spanish capital with ironic chants of ‘Se queda, se queda’ in reference to his ill-advised tweet about Neymar.
Pique posted a photo of him and the Brazilian superstar in the midst of PSG’s approach with the caption ‘Se queda’ meaning ‘He stays’ leading Barca fans to believe they would hang on to their prize asset.
Following Neymar’s departure, fans of other teams, particular from Madrid, have never missed an opportunity to mock Pique about the incident.
The Catalan defender has been the pantomime villain among Madrid fans for years.
He has even fallen out with international team-mates Sergio Ramos and Alvaro Arbeloa due to his constant digs at Barca’s long-time rivals.
Fans present as Pique arrived in Madrid his team-mates were in a mischievous mood and didn’t hesitate to serenade the 30-year-old with a reminder of his hasty claim.
Pique endured a nightmare first leg at the Bernabeu, scoring an own goal as Barcelona lost 3-1.
The Catalans now face a massive task to overcome their rivals, who will be without the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo.
