Tiemoue Bakayoko is nearly a Chelsea player.
It’s taken some time, but the Monaco midfielder should be unveiled as a Blue very soon, after being spotted at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground this week.
Ahead of his transfer, Bakayoko has taken to Instagram to reveal to fans some extra details about the kind of player and person he is.
In a teaser video titled ‘Stay Tuned’, Bakayoko has revealed the player that inspired him the most when he was young.
And unfortunately, it’s one of Chelsea all-time chief tormentors from way back.
In the video, the France international said that, while many people see Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s greatest players, former Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho deserves praise as well.
Bakayoko says: “Ronaldinho is someone who inspired me, my favourite. People talk about Messi and Ronaldo, but Ronaldinho wasn’t bad.”
You’re not wrong there, Timoue.

Of course, everyone remembers that goal that Ronaldinho scored against Chelsea back in the day.
The Brazilian has won multiple honours throughout his career, including the Champions League with Barcelona, and once made David Seaman look foolish.
