Southampton release retro-style superhero animation to announce their new kit… with Ronald Koeman as the villain

And Southampton’s bizarre kit launch campaign will take some beating, with their #MadeForHeroes animation featuring cartoon superhero versions of Manolo Gabbiadini, Ryan Bertrand, Fraser Forster and Maya Yoshida battling an evil blonde villain – who looks a lot like former manager Ronald Koeman.

Check it out:

The two-part video series shows the Saints stars go up against the anonymous bad guy in a highly stylised comic book fight to retrieve their the new kit, which was stolen by the masked bad guy.

It’s all very dramatic.

And of course, good overcomes evil with the heroes stealing back their new kit, while the baddie is thrown into a fiery pit of lava.

The end of the video reveals the clubs’ new kits for next season, with the home kit featuring more white, with red sleeves and black shorts, while the new away strip is black and blue.
