Manchester City will make Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano their third summer signing but then loan him to PSV Eindhoven, according to reports.
Pep Guardiola swooped in front of Man United boss Jose Mourinho to sign the Pachuca and Mexico winger.
But univision.com say Lozano will not be given an immediate place in the City squad and will instead be sent to the Eredivisie.
Bizarrely, the player himself claims to have no such knowledge of a deal being reached – but said he would be happy to join City.
Lozano, 21, scored Mexico’s second in their 3-0 win over Honduras last night but admitted afterwards the transfer was news to him.
He said: “I only just heard about it when they asked me. I’ve not been told anything.
“I’ve got to take it calmly and speak about it all with the [Pachuca] directors.”
Lozano has made clear his intention to try his luck in Europe and the club acknowledged they face a fight to keep him.
But asked if he would be chuffed signing for Guardiola’s Etihad revolution and then going to PSV, Lozano said: “Of course I would be.
“They are great teams and going to one would be very important.”
Lozano’s transfer will come as a blow to Mourinho – especially after the player said he would love to join the Old Trafford side.
He said: “The one I would like most is Manchester, I like this club a lot and it’s a very important club.”
