You’ve probably heard quite a lot about Theo Hernandez already.
The young Frenchman is considered one of football’s most promising young full-backs, and is seemingly on his way to Real Madrid after a great season on loan at Alaves.
But he’s not without controversy.
Despite only being 19-years-old, it seems the left-back has already managed to alienate half the population of Madrid, by controversially joining Real from parent-club Atletico.
And he’s also risking his young international career, by opting to catch some rays on a beach in Marbella instead of joining up with France’s Under-21 side.
Hernandez was expected to join up with Les Bleuets on Tuesday morning, but failed to show up to training and was reportedly not answering his phone.
Nobody knew where he was.
Speaking to the press, manager Sylvain Ripoll said: “Theo Hernández is not here. There is no explanation for this at the moment. I have taken note of his absence. He’ll probably meet up in the next couple of weeks to explain things to the Federation”.
But mere hours later a photo of Hernandez circulated on social media, which showed the teenager sunning it up with his Alaves teammates Alexis Ruano and Carlos Vigaray.
We hope he has a good explanation.
