Brazilian fan trolls rivals with a drone midway through Rio de Janeiro derby

Vasco de Gama and Fluminense had to stop playing after a drone hovered above the pitch carrying a banner

What’s that humming?

Oh wait, it’s coming closer. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s a drone carrying a banner mocking the opposition.

Oh Brazil, you moody b*stard

Vasco De Gama’s game against Fluminense had to be halted when a Vasco fan flew a drone over the pitch.

The drone was carrying a banner displaying a ‘C’ sign.

Random right? But there was some method to the madness. The ‘C’ references the time in 1999 when Fluminense were relegated to Serie C.

Expert trolling.

Aside from a brief disruption the game was an absolute barnstormer, featuring the best name in football- Yago Picachu- and a 93rd minute winner from former West Ham striker Nene.

There were plenty of familiar faces on show.

Remember me, West Ham fans?

Former Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano started up top for Vasco, opening the goalscoring in the 26th minute, while former Liverpool player Diego Cavalieri was in goal for Fluminense.

But the drone was undoubtedly the star of the show.

That takes winding the opposition fans up to whole new heights (excuse the pun).
