Jose Mourinho sits fast asleep on a 6.36am train to Manchester after rushing out of a six-second press conference to get to London to see his family.
The Old Trafford boss was pictured catching 40 winks in a first-class carriage from Euston today.
Mourinho, who was in full training gear, skipped the lap of honour at the Theatre of Dreams yesterday so he could quickly attend his final media duties of the league season.
But that debacle lasted all of six seconds after the Portuguese was not faced with any questions.
And Mourinho had left the stadium by 5.10pm – less than 20 minutes after the final whistle.
Turns out it was all part of the plan to get to London as quickly as he could for some quality time away from the spotlight.
But already he was back at the club’s Carrington training ground by 11am today for training.
Mourinho has been living in the plush Lowry Hotel in Manchester ever since getting the job last summer.
And, judging by the snap of him asleep, he was hardly thrilled at the thought of returning after a hectic Premier League season.
At least the two-hour train journey gave him plenty of time to think of tactics for United’s Europa League final.
Mourinho’s Red Devils take on Ajax in Stockholm on Wednesday knowing victory will get them in the Champions League.
That was the reason he played the kids – including youngest ever United star Angel Gomes – in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
