Black is the colour away from home for Manchester United next season.
Their 2017-18 away strip is a throwback to 1998 when the Red Devils also combined black and white.
Leaked pictures of the heritage-infused look have been released by Todos Sobre Camisetas, an South American shirt website with an impeccable record of leaking new kits.Made by Adidas and featuring Chevrolet’s logo on the chest, the United away shirt will be officially released on Wednesday ahead of both home and third versions.
They will be available in July and August respectively and should appeal to both to traditionalists and younger United fans.
The shorts are also black with white Adidas brandings, but without granite details – ie. without the pattern. They have an understated look but featuring a Devil graphic on the front.
Back in 1998 United’s black and white kit was used in 1998 by Umbro (combined with green details).
The only United strip to feature only black and white was released by Nike for the 2003-04 season.
