David Beckham has painted his own tongue red to mark the relaunch of the Adidas Predator boots.
The England midfielder became a global icon wearing the white/champagne boots with during his career.
Now sportswear manufacturers Adidas have re-released their Predator Mania boots Beckham helped become a cult classic – complete with the bright red tongue.
Production ceased on the originals three years ago, soon after Beckham’s retirement, despite being one of the best selling boot models in the history of football.
But such has been demand, Adidas decided they had no choice but to re-introduce them to the market for those fans who don’t like the new sock-type boots currently in production.
Fans already got a sneak preview of the redesign when they were worn by Real Madrid star James Rodriguez back in December.
But the official release of them was held by the company, who have today decided to go public on the day Beckham celebrates his 42nd birthday.
