Speaking on April 12, Pogba said: “Extend here? Why not ! If the club feels like it, if you count on me, I could very well stay here. I’ll see if I get a new contract.”

However a new offer has failed to materialise, and he told L’Equipe that the lure of the Premier League would be hard to resist

He said: “It’s a championship that I appreciate very much.

“I wouldn’t say no to setting foot there.

“(But) I have not had anything concrete put on the table.”

It would mean Florentin and Paul would share a pitch once more if he made the move to England’s top flight, having played each other twice in the Europa league Round of 32.

The Red Devils prevailed, winning over two legs, but the Guinean international won a lot of admirers in the defeat.

Arsenal were surprisingly linked with the defender earlier on in the season, and last summer he was wanted by Sunderland, although a move failed to materialise.
