The news came in today that the manager of Man United, Jose Mourinho, got the sack.
What if the current United squad were to go up against arguably the greatest Man United side of all time?
Of course, we are talking about Sir Alex Ferguson’s 2008 Champions League winning squad.
Well, thanks to FIFA 19 we now know the answer.
YouTuber S2G pulled together both United sides and faced them off in a legendary all or nothing AI battle on FIFA 19.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side was based off their 2008 Champions League win with a number of iconic players including Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez up front and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo on the left wing.
With a 4-4-2 formation, S2G was trying to keep the simulation as realistic as possible.
Jose Mourinho’s (former) side and the current United team used a 4-2-3-1 formation with Romelu Lukaku up front and Paul Pogba in attacking midfield.
At this stage, it really doesn’t feel like a fair competition at all.
The game gets off to a quick start with Mourinho’s side taking control of the game getting some early shots off.
However, the momentum doesn’t last long with Ronaldo managing to head the ball in making the score 1-0 to Ferguson’s side.
The second half starts off slow, with Mourinho’s team lacking energy and seemingly motivation (maybe due to the lack of a manager).
A few more shots are made from both sides but no goals are scored, making the final result 1-0 to Ferguson’s United.
With the 2008 Champions League winning team only winning by one goal, maybe Mourinho shouldn’t have been sacked just yet?
