The Champions League coming to FIFA 19 is one of the biggest developments Career mode has ever had.
For years EA has been peddling the league’s ‘budget’ version, the Champions Cup.
While some are worried the mode won’t see much love this year, the addition of the Champions League will still change FIFA 19 Career mode in a number of ways.
Ultimate difficulty has been added
The hardest AI difficulty you can play against in Ultimate team has been brought across to Career mode.
This means those of you looking for a step up from the legendary difficulty will get a chance to show off your skills and get some real practice in.
Authentic and exciting
In an interview with USGamer, FIFA 19 creative director Matthew Prior spoke about Career mode and how changes would be seen by players.
“There’s a big update in the sense that the Champions League is included” Prior said. “This time, Career mode is the most authentic it has ever been.” Prior also hinted there would be a whole user interface overhaul to reflect the new league – not to mention some key cinematic additions that help add more realism.
Prior also revealed there would definitely be a Champions League and Europa Leauge draw cinematic.
Players will be able to see this whole sequence play out finding out which teams are in which groups.
Pre-game cutscenes
Along with the draw cinematics, you will also get to see the players getting off the bus at the beginning of a game along with mid-game cut scenes of players warming up and taking selfies with the crowd. Player signing scenes have also had a re-vamp.
Training players up
One of the most exciting features likely to have a huge effect on how you play is the ability to train a player’s strength and sprint speed.
Training them up will no doubt put your team leagues ahead of opponents.
FIFA 19 Standard and Champions Editions are available to pre-order from GAME and Amazon
Managers and handling the press
You’ll now be able to customise your managers and have them host press conferences.
YouTuber Futmentor drafted up some images on how the fully customisable manager’s locker may look.
FIFA 18 had limited faces and styles when it came to picking your managers.
With the manager’s press conferences being confirmed by EA’s sports developer, Futmentor also created an image of how this may look.
Multiple dialogue options will allow players to react to games the way they want to, but be warned – your choices may dramatically affect your career.
Releaseeee meeee
When searching for new players to sign you can now tick a box to only see players with a release clause in their contract.
This will ultimately save you a lot of time and money.
Revamped reward system
Ever felt like you weren’t rewarded for how well you did each season?
Well, you can now get a budget increase and a boat-load more cash depending on how well you did in the previous season.
The board will give you more funds for a good or above-average season.
