The wait is finally over

The PES 2019 kicks off tomorrow (August 8) – giving fans a chance to get their hands on the long-awaited game.

Arriving on Xbox One, PC and PS4, you’ll be able to play Exhibition match, quick match and offline CO-OP modes will be available to play in one of two stadiums, FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou or FC Schalke 04’s VELTINS Arena.

There will be 10 teams available, including Liverpool FC, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan, plus national sides, Argentina and France.

Here are all the teams you’ll be able to play with:

  • Barcelona
  • Liverpool
  • FC Schalke
  • Inter Milan
  • AS Monaco
  • C.R. Flamengo
  • SAO Paulo FC
  • SE Palmeiras
  • Colo Colo
  • France
  • Argentina

New features include Visible Fatigue, which impact performance and behaviour.

Shooting mechanics and improved ball physics have also been revised, while ‘Enlighten’ software allows for true-to-life visual effects; and for the first time, 4K HDR across all platforms.

Despite not featuring the Champions League, PES 2019 will feature more licensed clubs and leagues than ever before, with myClub receiving the biggest overhaul to date.

PES 2019 may not have Frostbite powering it, but it still looks stunning in motion. This is thanks to Fox Engine, the same powerhouse behind the recent Metal Gear Solid games.

And the good news is that, as this is the first game in series not to support last-gen consoles, Konami has cranked up the visual fidelity even more.

Thanks to ‘Enlighten’ software, true-to-life visual effects and 4K HDR is supported across all platforms

Real time ‘Global Illumination’ lighting and shadows results in better crowd detail, real grass textures and the return of the popular snow weather effect.

FIFA 19 meanwhile looks largely the same – albeit with a few minor tweaks.

EA Sports has focused on gameplay this year rather than visuals – so those expecting another graphical leap may be left disappointed.

Konami has shifted the release date to August 29 – while FIFA 19 arrives on September 28.

This could prove a masterstroke, as for years PES has gone head to head with EA’s game in the September launch window.
