FIFA 18: This is what happens if Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Man United

YouTuber DTT decided to find out using the game's Career Mode

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to a return to Man United a few times – but it’s never materialised.

But what would happen if it actually did go through?

YouTuber DTT decided to find out – using the game’s Career Mode.

Can the 33-year-old still pull his weight? Or does he struggle with the pace and physicality of the Premier League?

First off, DT signed the star – offering him £500,000 a week AND Alexis Sanchez (who, on current form, wouldn’t be missed by fans).

Next, the announcement’s made official – and Ronaldo pops up on the screen along with Paul Pogba and David de Gea.

Now, this is where it starts getting interesting. A message pops up, appearing to question Sanchez’s move.

It reads: “This has surprised almost everyone that follows Real Madrid, as it is not obvious how the player will contribute to his new club”.

It goes on to read: “… so it’s anyone’s guess why they are taking him.”

Poor Alexis – even EA doesn’t rate you at the moment.

Sadly, despite Ronaldo having history at Man United, EA hasn’t taken this into account and blows the opportunity to include a nice bit of detail.

It wouldn’t have taken much to mention how he’d been reunited with the team that helped shape him into the player he is today.

Instead, all you get is a vague line outlining how much he sold for – a tad disappointing if you ask us.

So, how long does Ronaldo last? At 33, surely the end is in sight?

DTT simulated a few seasons with Ronaldo back at Real Madrid – and the good news is that he’s got a few years left.

According to Career Mode, Ronnie hangs up his boots at the age of 36.

Sadly, he hasn’t won the league for the past four seasons – and although he’s injury free, it’s clear he’s past his best.

So, there you have it.

If you try and sign Ronaldo for Manchester United, the game won’t like it – but he’ll last four seasons.
