FIFA 18 may do a lot right but there are still plenty of things it needs to improve.
We’ve picked out four quick fixes that’ll instantly make the game a lot, lot better. Let’s kick off with a relatively easy one.
Mohamed Salah’s face
I mean, just look at it.
The Egyptian really doesn’t look much like his real-life self, which is pretty woeful given how many upgraded cards he’s had on the game so far.
The good news is that EA regularly updates player faces and hairstyles, so we can expect to see this addressed in the next update.
Kit numbers not updating
Surely this wouldn’t be too hard to fix?
Right now, some players do not have the same kit numbers as they do in real life – as EA does not update them.
Of course, you can go in and manually change them, but they often get reset after each game.
It’s a tiny detail but really takes away from the experience, not to mention it’s kind of annoying – so here’s hoping they sort it out.
Squad fitness search
This year saw the introduction of improved search mechanics for consumables – one of which is a Squad Fitness card search.
But when you search for them, only ‘Player Fitness’ cards come up.
Every now and then, a Squad card will find its way on there – but it’s way too infrequent.
EA needs to increase the volume of these cards or remove the Squad Fitness search altogether.
Pro FIFA player BorasLegend told us the servers ‘completely ruin’ the experience right now and need to get sorted out.
“In my opinion this is by far the best game when the connection is perfect,” he said.
“Unfortunately players have been suffering a lot from delay this year due to insufficient servers that completely ruin the experience.”
There’s nothing worse than playing Ultimate Team with lag or delay.
That’s enough for them to get started on, I reckon.
