FIFA 18: EA Sports put a Man City player in the crowd – but we bet you haven’t spotted him

Is it an Easter Egg or was EA EA hoping we'd never notice?

FIFA 18 may have been out for a few months but we bet you haven’t spotted this Easter Egg.

During a match, a keen gamer noticed that Man City midfielder Aleix Garcia can be seen in the crowd during games.

The Villarreal youth product made nine appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side last season but is currently on loan at Girona.

But look closely and you’ll see the 20-year-old turn up at matches – often sporting a rather fetching beige polo shirt.

So, why is this happening?

The main reason could be that EA couldn’t be bothered to scan more faces – given that they have 1000s on file.

They probably picked a player not many people would have seen or recognise – but it seems to have not gone unnoticed.

It’s not the first time EA recycled a face in the game.

If you completed The Journey on FIFA 17, you may remember bumping into a young fan who asks for Alex Hunter’s autograph.

However, in the opening section of FIFA 18’s The Journey, the same fan pops up again – only this time, he’s Brazilian.

Just what is going on?

Now, it won’t be an Easter Egg or anything like that.

In fact, EA could be saving time by using the same character model – although how they thought no one would notice is beyond us.

The young lad then asks Hunter and his pal Danny Williams to play a game of football, reminiscent of FIFA Street.

Cutting corners or a deliberate nod to those who played the last game?

Guess we’ll never know.
