EA Sports today released FIFA 18’s Team of the Week – and there’s one very surprising addition.
Amongst the likes of Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min, Leicester City hero Riyad Mahrez and Manchester derby winner Nicolas Otamendi lies Jozy Altidore.
The very same Altidore who played 70 Premier League games for Hull and Sunderland – and netted a grand total of two goals.
Back when Paulo Di Canio was managing the Black Cats, he spent £6m on the US international.
Altidore repayed his manager’s faith – registering just one strike in 42 league games.
He was big and strong – he could have been incredible.
Sadly, his ball control was severely lacking and did nothing to help a Sunderland side battling to avoid relegation.
Now, however – things seem to have changed.
For one, his TOTW card has 86 for shooting – reflective of his pretty decent conversion rate over in the States.
He currently has 38 goals in 75 games for Toronto, which – for him – is pretty incredible.
He’s pretty nippy too, with the 28-year-old scoring a 77 pace rating.
A massive 85 for dribbling gives the American an attacking edge he sorely missed when in England.
Who knows, maybe he’s worth snapping up in your Ultimate Team?
