EA Sports has removed an ‘exploit’ that allowed gamers to ‘mine’ free coins on FIFA 18 Ultimate Team.
It comes just days after FIFA fans noticed that FIFA Squad Battles could be ‘hacked’ by tricking the AI into committing multiple fouls.
In the mode, which sees you play against CPU controlled teams for weekly rewards, bronze players would be fouled by AI on Ultimate difficulty.
Rather than getting put off by a yellow card, the hyper-aggressive AI would continue to commit fouls – allowing you to strategically get them sent off.
Come the end of the week, you could collect greater rewards for winning more games on the hardest difficulty.
However, EA has put an end to that trick, releasing a patch to kill off what they call an ‘unintended gameplay mechanic’.
The patch works by stopping CPU AI controlled player from getting a second yellow card – unless you’re through on goal and they take you down. The full patch notes can be seen here.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted!
