There are 10 players who share the unenviable tag of being the worst players in FIFA 18.
All of them are rated 46, which for professional athletes is a bit of a kick in the teeth.
But one of them isn’t even a pro. As Kotaku reports, he only features to get around an administrative loop hole.
Tommy Käßemodel ‘plays’ for German club FC Erzgebirge Aue – and he’s not great.
His pace is rated at 23 while his defensive rating is 36. Pretty horrendous.
But here’s the kicker – Käßemodel isn’t paid to play football – he’s actually Erzgebirge’s kit man (he’s in action here).
So, what’s going on?
In German football, clubs must have four players in their senior squad who were brought through by the team’s academy system.
At the beginning last season Erzgebirge only had three, but as RAN report the club realised they could meet the requirements by signing Käßemodel—who had been a youth player at the club—to a professional contract.
He doesn’t actually play but because he’s on the books he makes the cut for FIFA 18.
Well played, Erzgebirge.
