With the release of FIFA 18 the time has come to dedicate yourself to all things virtual once again.
We’re sure it won’t be long until you fire up career mode and hit the transfer market, so who should you be signing?
Harry Kane’s scintillating form over the last 12 months has seen him rewarded with an 86 rating, which is likely to make him difficult to sign unless you’re one of the top clubs with a punchy budget.
So why not look for a cheaper alternative? Because cheap doesn’t necessarily mean worse.
Introducing Borussia Monchengladbach forward Lars Stindl, who’s been given an 82 rating on FIFA 18.
On the face of it his rating, which is four lower than Kane, would make him a vastly inferior player.
But when you compare the two you can see that there are several key areas in which Stindl tops Kane.
For a start he’s got better pace, with 74 acceleration compared to 68, meaning he’ll get off the mark quicker, which is important the higher up you go on FIFA 18.
Stindl’s long shots (86) are two better than Kane which could give you the edge if shooting from range is overpowered on this version of the game.
The 29-year-old also tops Kane in short passing, long passing, vision, ball control and jumping, making him an ideal team player to bring others into the game.
In real life Stindl has three goals in seven games for Germany, so you can expect to hear more from him as we near the 2018 World Cup.
So there you go, a bargain tip from Dream Team. You can’t say we never treat you.
