PES 2018 fans looking forward to playing as Maradona may be a little disappointed.
His rating is a little on the low side… putting it mildly.
Those who pre-order the game will be able to get the Argentine – but, if the demo screen is anything to go by, he only has an 83 rating.
This seems awfully low for arguably one of the greatest players of all time.
In contrast, the Argentina ace’s stats in FIFA 18 are far more impressive.
The game will feature three versions of the player – from 1982 to 1989.
His top rated card (1986) is rated at 97, while his lowest (1982) is a very impressive 91.
It’s not known yet if Konami will be releasing several versions of the Argentine, as per FIFA, but given the fact they specify a date range in promotional material, this could be likely.
The relationship between Maradona and Konami hasn’t been particularly smooth in recent months.
Earlier in the year, the player reached a settlement with the PES publisher regarding a dispute over his appearance in the game.

Konami had to compensate Maradona for the use of his name and likeness in the game, after the Argentine claimed they were used without permission.
Maradona has since signed a deal with the publisher to help promote the game, which runs until 2020.
