Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be at risk of not featuring on FIFA 18 but that hasn’t stopped him starring in another, slightly more far our game.
Zlatan Legends is a skill-based, free-to-play casual game for mobile that allows gamers to play as Zlatan, against Zlatan.
It’s based on a completely new sport called Driftball – a fast-paced game played in space.
“I’m really proud of what the studio has accomplished this past year,” said Ibrahimovic.

“I was not interested in just releasing another football game onto the market – it’s important that the game felt unique and was built from scratch.
“We wanted to offer something for everyone, but at the same time ensure it was complex enough to test the skill of even the most hardcore gamer.”
The Swede is known for being a huge gaming fan. In fact, he’s the co-owner of Swedish gaming studio ISBIT GAMES, the team behind Zlatan Legends.
Zlatan Legends is available to download for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad from the iTunes App Store here: http://bit.ly/zlatanlegends.
The Swede, 35, is currently a free agent after he was released by Manchester United following a horrific knee injury last season.
Free agents do not feature in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team – which puts Ibrahimovic at risk of missing out.
And fans are understandably concerned.

The striker was one of the best forwards in FIFA 17 – with his base card boasting an impressive score of 90. His top card was rated 97 – and had an incredible 99 rating for shooting.
One fan wrote on the FIFA sub-reddit: “He is technically a free agent at the moment and he is also currently injured.
“Jose Mourinho has said there is no rush to sign because of the injury so if no deal is reached before full release then surely he won’t be in the game? Not until he signs for a club and a update is released at least.”
Another said: “He might not be in career mode (and certainly not on free agents because you only get sub 70 rated players on that to begin with) because he doesn’t play for Sweden anymore.”
It looks as though gamers will have to wait to see if Ibrahimović is re-signed by United until they can play with him.
If that doesn’t happen then it may be some time before Ibrahimović returns to the game.
Elsewhere, FIFA 18 creative director Matt Prior said the publisher will use this month’s Gamescom conference in Cologne as a springboard for FIFA 18 news about the popular mode.
“Ordinary we don’t announce much about Ultimate Team around this time because we’re in the run up to Gamescom – that’s our big FUT showcase,” he said.
Gamescom is Europe’s largest gaming convention, taking place between August 22-26.
