A Career Mode experiment has revealed the Belgian's arrival could be a blessing

Romelu Lukaku has joined Manchester United from Everton for a whopping £75m, in a deal that will see him at Old Trafford for the next five years.

But just how good will the 24-year-old Belgian be?

Will he fill the void left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic or struggle to fit in?

YouTuber FootyManagerTV decided to find out and used FIFA 17 Career Mode to plonk Lukaku in the United team.

He then simmed the season to see how he did.

Firstly, let’s take a look at where United finished in the table.

Lukaku’s arrival seems to have been blessing, with United winning the Premier League.

They scored 70 goals, conceded 37 and won 22 out of the 38 games. Impressively, they lost just four.

How about Lukaku?

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Lukaku’s stats are not that great.

In fact, he scored just five goals in 57 appearances.

He netted one in the Premier League, one in the Champions Cup and three in the FA Cup.

The Belgian did, however, provide 15 assists in the Prem – not bad at all.

So, there you have it.

According to FIFA, United will win the Prem – but it won’t be down to Lukaku’s goal-scoring prowess – rather his ability to create chances.
