FIFA 18: Who we think will be the strongest players on the new game

We pick who's destined to be an absolute beast in EA SPORTS' upcoming football game

FIFA 17 isn’t just about speed and skill, strength is just as important – and these players have it in bucket loads.

Especially given just how much weight EA has given the in-game shielding mechanic.

We go through the 10 players we predict will be the strongest in FIFA 18.

Not even FIFA 18 cover star Cristiano Ronaldo would want to mess with this lot.

Kendall Waston

Watson has a lethal combination of height and strength

The Costa Rica international boasts a lethal combination of 94 strength and aggression.

Add to the mix that he’s 6ft 5ins and the 29-year-old is someone you definitely wouldn’t want to play against.

Florian Ballas

Ballas is slow but incredibly strong

Ballas is slow but incredibly strong

Ballas may be slow, but his 6ft 5ins frame and 94 strength rating more than make up for it.

A former Germany under-19 player, he’s only 24 years old, so expect him to climb up the rankings year on year.

Colin Bonner

Bonner is one of the fastest of this lot – but not great in front of goal

Bonner is one of the fastest of this lot – but not great in front of goal

The American is one of the strongest strikers in FIFA 17 – boasting a 94 rating.

Sadly, he’s not too good in front of goal so we doubt the FC Dallas man would make your FIFA Ultimate Team.

Hakeem Araba

Araba, another striker, can hold off defenders well in the box

Araba currently plays for  Næstved in Denmark and is one of the few Englishmen playing football abroad.

At just 26 years old and 6ft 3ins, the striker’s 94 strength rating will make him a threat for years to come.

Jannik Vestergaard

Vestergaard’s 6ft 6ins frame makes him a towering presence at the back

The 6ft 6ins Dane boats 94 strength and a solid 81 aggression.

According to Futhead, he seems to be getting stronger with age, which is good news for FIFA 18 fans.

Wilfried Bony

Bony is pretty decent in FIFA 17 – especially when it comes to his physical stats and shooting

Manchester City may have loaned the 28-year-old to Stoke, but on FIFA you’ll want to keep him in your team.

Has a great 85 rating for physicality, coupled with a 94 rating for strength.

Not bad for a striker!

Abdoul Ba

Huge defender with decent strength – not one to be messed with

This 6ft 7ins specimen is one of the tallest in FIFA 17 and will command the box during corners.

Currently playing for Lens, Ba boasts 95 for strength.

Roman Torres

One of the smallest of this lot, but boasts incredible strength

The 6ft 2ins Panamanian may have next to no pace, but he’s incredibly strong with a 95 strength rating.

A big man with a big afro who’s currently tearing it up for MLS side Seattle Sounders.

George Elokobi

Elokobi will likely be the second strongest in FIFA 18 – an absolute monster

Elokobi will likely be the second strongest in FIFA 18 – an absolute monster

Colchester strongman Elokobi was second strongest in FIFA 17 – and we think he’ll hold this spot in FIFA 18.

Boasts an incredible 95 strength rating, which he’s held on to for the past few FIFAs.

Adebayo Akinfenwa

Akinfenwa’s best card had a 99 strength rating – we’re sure he’ll keep this in FIFA 18

The Beast will likely remain the strongest player in FIFA 18.

His Movember card had an unbeatable 99 strength – making tackling him nearly impossible.

We’d expect to see a strength rating around the 97 mark for this year’s new base card.
