Custom tactics

First thing’s first – you need to make sure your custom tactics are the same as the below.

Tweaking the settings can have a huge impact on your performance

The higher you make these values, the easier it is to apply pressure – but you’ll also leave more space for the opposition to exploit.

Don’t get too caught up on custom tactics, the real factor is player control.

The grip

You’re going to need to press sprint and apply double-man pressure at the same time – but still have you fingers free to switch player with the right thumbstick and perform a standing tackle (O / B).

To apply pressure and sprint at the same time, use the side of your index finger – as per below.

The right grip is essential if you’re going to keep up with the pros

BorasLegend recommends you use the classic controller settings or something very similar.

Anything else will cause your fingers to occupy different buttons, making this technique impossible.

On the pitch

While it’s tempting, do not chase the opponent around the pitch.

Instead, try to anticipate who they will pass to and block potential passing lanes.

Try and guess where the opponent is going to pass the ball

Throughout a match, use the sprint double-man press technique to close down space.

It’ll take some getting used to, but when you master it, you’ll see a huge difference.

Don’t rush in as it’ll open up space in other areas for your opposition to exploit
