Cash Mini League Prizes

When will I receive my prize winnings?

All Dream Team leagues are going to be finalised after the Champions League final on Saturday 3rd June.

We have almost 20,000 winners to process and need to legally verify who has won and then we will work to pay out winners within 14 days.

In the meantime, please check your spam and email inbox to see if you've received an email about updating your expired card details. You will need to contact us using our Live Chat service to do this.

Where will my winnings be paid into?

Your prize will be automatically paid onto the credit or debit card you used to enter the league that you have won.

Please make sure that your card details are up to date and have not expired - this will cause a delay in getting your winnings. To update your payment details please contact us using our Live Chat service

If you are a Club Dream Team subscriber who has won a prize against one of the free entries you received as part of your existing subscription - one of our team will be in touch within 28 days to arrange payment.

Why have I received payment for one league and not the others?

Our automated payment service is working through paying the leagues out, this takes time.

You may have received a payment for one league you are in and not the other, we are working through them in batches and you will receive payment for all leagues within 14 days of the league finishing.

Why is my prize money less than expected?

Unfortunately someone within your league has failed the ID & V process when entering the league, they have had there funds returned to them & this is why you have a reduced prize pot

Your prize pot may be reduced for two reasons:

- We've found that someone in your league is under 18 and/or has broken competitions rules, and we've had to remove them and their league stake from the prize pot

Who gives me my prize money?

This year Dream Team process all the transactions for Cash Mini Leagues.

I have won prizes during the season for other leagues that I have entered, why do I need to update my card details?

Winnings are paid back onto the card that this particular entry was made with - this card may have expired now, so we need you to contact us to update.

How do I find out how much I’ve won?

I’ve won prizes in two leagues. Why do I need to update my card details twice?

The account you're paid into is linked to the transaction you made to enter the league - you may have used different cards, so we need to do this twice

I have updated my payment details but havent received my payment?

Why is my prize money less than expected?

Unfortunately someone within your league has failed the ID & V process when entering the league, they have had there funds returned to them & this is why you have a reduced prizepot

Your prize pot may be reduced for two reasons:

- We've found that someone in your league is under 18 and/or has broken competitions rules, and we've had to remove them and their league stake from the prize pot

Who gives me my prize money?

Why can’t I update my card details anymore?

Unfortunately once the process has started with paying out leagues we are no longer able to update payment details in our system. This means we need to collect your bank details from you in order to process your payment via BACS.

Registration and account

I’m getting a Connection error or Handshake failed message

This could be something to do with your Wifi settings.

A simple fix is to:

- Use your 3G or 4G on your phone to connect to Dream Team.

- You can also change the parental setting on your Wifi account and you should not have any problems.

- Once this is all done to make sure it works, delete and reinstall your Dream Team App.

Why have I been locked out of my account?

The most common reason to have your account suspended is that you've failed age verification. As Dream Team is a gambling product, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to open an account or to pay to enter a league with us.

  • We have to carry out electronic age verification checks on customers. If this check fails, we legally have to lock you out of your account if you don't send us I.D. to prove that you are over 18 within 72 hours of paid league entry.
  • If you don't respond within 14 days, we will have to refund any of our league entries and void your teams.
  • You can verify your age and regain access to your account at any time during the season by emailing us at DTageverify@thesun.co.uk with a scan or photo of your Driving licence or Passport.
  • Please include 'Age verification' in the subject line of the email and make sure all the numbers on your documents are clearly readable.

How do I update my personal or payment details?

You can update some of your details by visiting your My Account area.

If you want to update the credit or debit card you use to receive prize payments, or change your name, date of birth or address - please contact us using our Live Chat service.

If you want to update the credit or debit card you use to make league entry payments, you can do this when you enter a new league.

I have forgotten my Password or Login details, what should I do?

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by selecting the forgotten password link.

If you've forgotten your email address, please use our Contact Us form to send us your full name, postcode and if you played last Season, please include the name of the first fantasy team you registered with.

Why do I have to reset my password?

This year we're having to increase the security of your account.

Your new Dream Team password needs to be at least 8 characters long, and must include at least 1 number. You can use a mixture of letters, numbers and symbols.

Age verification

I failed age verification close to kick off – can I still play?

Of course! Don't worry your team will continue to score points. As long as you have provided us with a valid ID from the email address that you registered with then you will be in the game within 24 hours.

I’ve failed age verification, can I still win prizes in the leagues I’ve entered?

If you send us I.D. and successfully prove that you are over 18 in under 14 days of first paying to enter a league, we should be able to get you and your teams back into the game and be eligible to win prizes.

If you contact us to pass age verification after this, we will have removed your teams from actively playing in any leagues, and they will appear as 'void' in the leaderboards.

You will receive a refund for all league entries. If you pass age verification after you've had your teams voided and refunds processed, you will need to pay to re-enter teams into any leagues.

Why have I been locked out of my account?

Where will the photos or scans of the documents I send you be stored?

We will securely store your I.D. documents within a secure database. Your details will not be shared with anyone.

I’ve played Dream Team for years, why am I being asked for my I.D. now?

We're sorry if you've been happily playing Dream Team for 10 years and this is the first time this has happened. New laws require us to carry out electronic age verification checks.

Why do you need to age verify me?

As part of Dream Team is a gambling product, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to open an account or to pay to enter a league with us.

Due to Gambling laws, we have to carry out electronic age verification checks on customers who use payment methods.

We reserve the right to request proof of age documentation at any time and to suspend any accounts until this is provided. We also reserve the right to forfeit all transactions and return all payments to anyone under the age of 18.

I don’t have a Passport or Driving Licence, what should I do?

Unfortunately, if you don't have a Passport or Driving Licence we cannot verify that you are over 18.

If you have already registered for Dream Team, your account will be suspended and a refund will be processed for any leagues that you have paid to enter within 14 days.

I’m over 18, why have I failed age verification?

To check your age we use Electoral roll and other databases to see whether your name and address can be matched against a record that proves you're over 18.

A common reason to fail age verification is because your registered address doesn't match what is in our the verification database - you may have moved house recently, or registered with the wrong one.

You may have also failed age verification because you registered with a false name. To pass age verification you need to email us at DTageverify@thesun.co.uk with a scan or photo of your Driving Licence or Passport make sure to add 'Age verification' in the email subject line.

I’ve failed age verification, what I.D do I need to send you?

You need to email us at DTageverify@thesun.co.uk with a scan or photo of your Driving Licence or Passport.

Please put 'Age verification' in the email subject line. We accept smartphone photos - please make sure all the numbers on your documents are clearly readable.

Team selection

I’ve received an email about an Auto-selected team. What does it mean?

As the season has now kicked off, if you didn’t get a team picked in time we decided  to help out last season’s Managers. Any one who had a team last season will see that a new team has been created for them so they can still get involved.

If you are one of the managers who we have done this for, there is no need to worry, it is 100% FREE as this season we don't charge you to create teams, only to enter them into certain leagues.

When will my team(s) start scoring?

Your team(s) will start scoring as soon as any player in your chosen 11 plays a game.

Please note that you will have a team score, and a league score.

For example - if you enter your team into a league that starts in Game Week 1, your team score and league score will be the same. If you enter a team into a league that starts in Game Week 5, your league score will only start from that Game Week. This is why one team may have different scores in different leagues depending on when they started.

How can I change my team name?

You can change your team name any point - just visit the Team hub, find your team and tap on the settings tab.

Can I buy extra teams?

No you don't need to buy Additional Team packages this season - you can pick as many teams as you want for free.

You can enter them into our paid for Promoter and Cash Mini Leagues as and when you like.

How many teams can I enter into each league?

This depends on what league you're entering, but it is normally between 5 and 10 teams per Manager for our Promoter Leagues e.g. £250k Season League, £15k Monthly League.

The number of teams a Manager can enter into any one Mini League is between 1-5.

How many teams can I pick?

This season you can pick and mange as many Dream Teams as you want for free.

You will just need to pay a small fee to enter these teams into our Promoter Leagues in order to be eligible to win a share of the £1m prize pool.

There is no limit to the amount of leagues you can enter a single team into. Knock yourself out.

Transfers and player locking

Can I make my transfers during an International break?

Yes - you can make your transfers at any point during the calendar month, provided their Club hasn't played in that Game Week.

During International breaks you should have more flexibility on who you can transfer in or out.

Where can I make my transfers?

You can make transfers to your team via your team page on app, mobile and desktop.

Just tap or click on the player you want to transfer, and select the blue arrows or 'X' symbol.

When do transfers open?

August transfers will open at 12.30pm on Saturday 13 August and close at 23:59:59 on Wednesday 31 August

If you're picking a team after 12.30pm any changes to existing players you've selected will count as a transfer, but when you're adding a player to an empty spot, it won't count as a transfer.

Are there any emergency transfers this season?

No there are no emergency transfers this season as you have three transfers every month that take effect immediately.

If I don’t use all of my transfers in a month, will they carry over?

No, any unused transfers can't be carried over to the following month. It's use them or lose them.

Do I have to make all my transfers at the same time?

No you can make each of your three transfers at any point during the calendar month, provided their Club hasn't played in that Game Week

What is the reason for a locking a player from transfer?

A team cannot have more than 11 players score for their team in any one Game Week.

Transferring out a player who has already played for a player yet to play will exceed the limit of 11 players

What does transfer lockout mean?

A player will be 'locked' from being transferred in or out if their Club has already played in the Game Week.

You'll need to wait until the next Game Week starts the following Monday, or make a different transfer.

Why can’t I find a player on the player or make a transfer into my team?

There are two possible explanations:

  1. The player has not been added to our player list. We generally don't have every single player but will continually add new players through the season.
  2. The Club of the player you wish to transfer into your team has already played a match during the current Game Week and is locked from transfers.

The player will be available to transfer when the next Game Week starts but make sure you do it before they are locked again!

When do my transfers come into effect and start scoring?

Transfers come into effect immediately.

Your player will start scoring points for you as soon as they start playing in a match after you've transferred them into your team.

If you've changed your mind you can reverse your transfer at any point until that player's Club plays in a match that Game Week.

Paying to play Dream Team

My payment details aren’t working, what should I do?

The main reason you aren't able to make a payment is that you're entering the details incorrectly, your card has expired, or you don't have enough funds in your account.

Please check and re-enter your details, and try using a different card.

What credit or debit cards do you accept?

We accept payments via Credit or Debit VISA, Maestro and Mastercards.

Why do I need to be based in the UK or Republic of Ireland to pay to play Dream Team?

Sorry, due to gambling laws paid Dream Team leagues are only available to residents of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

If you win a prize then you will be asked for proof of your UK or ROI address before we pay you.

Do I have to pay to play Dream Team this year?

No, you can play for free and enter as many teams as you like.

In order to be eligible to win prizes you need to make a one-off payment to enter each of your free teams into any of our leagues.

Your payment details will be saved for when you want to enter other leagues.

Mini Leagues - general information

I can’t find a mini league

There are a couple of things that we need to check to help you.

1. Have you downloaded the latest version of the app?

- Delete an reinstall the app and update your device software, we make changes all the time.

2. Are you in the right country ?

- If you are in the UK you can join both the promoter leagues and a cash mini league.

- If you are in Ireland you can only join a promoter league

- you cannot join a cash mini league.

- If you are on holidays or outside the UK you will not be able to play either a promoter or cash mini league.

3. Are you sure you are entering the right PIN under Leagues to join?

- this is an easy mistake but it happens A LOT!

 

4. Have you tried to join via www.dreamteamfc.com/g ? If you have done all of the above and still have issues then please reply with your device, operating system and email.

What happens if there’s a tie break in a Mini League?

Check out Part 11 of our Game Rules for what happens in the event of a tie break.

What happens if I’m a Head to Head league with an odd number of Managers?

If there is an odd number of Managers belonging to a Mini League then the remaining Manager that Game Week will receive a bye and be awarded one point.

The fixtures are randomly generated and depending on the amount of teams in your league, each team may receive an uneven number of byes.

How do Head to Head leagues work?

In a Head to Head league, each team plays a match against another team in the league each Game Week.

Fixtures are generated when the league scoring starts, and once a league starts it is locked - no Managers can leave and no new Managers can join.

3 points are awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a lose. Teams are ranked on points earned in Head to Head matches.

When will my Mini League start?

Your Mini League will start at 00:00:01 on the Monday of the Game Week your Chairman has nominated.

Except for Game Week 1 Mini Leagues - they will start scoring at 12.30pm on Saturday 13 August

Entries for that Mini League will close just before this.

What’s the maximum size of a Mini League?

For free Standard Mini Leagues, there is no limit to the number of Managers who can join.

For Cash Standard Mini Leagues, the maximum number of Managers who can join the league is determined by the entry fee.

The maximum payout is £5,000 - so if your entry fee is £50 per team then the maximum team league size is 100.

If the Entry Stake is £25 then the maximum league size is 200.

For both free and Cash Head to Head Mini Leagues, the maximum number of Managers who can join the league is 40. This is so that each Manager is matched against another Manager in the Head to Head league once over the season.

What is the difference between a Public and Private Mini League?

A Public league is one that anyone can search for and join via the League Hub.

This means you may be playing against Managers you might not know You do not need a PIN to join a Public Mini League.

A Private Mini League is one that a Manager can join only if invited to do so by a Chairman.

You need to be issued a PIN to join a Private Mini League.

What is a Mini League?

You can play against your mates, family, colleagues or other Managers in a smaller league created by you - called a Mini League.

A Mini League can be created at any point during the season.

It will close for entries and start scoring at the start of the Game Week chosen by the Chairman.

There are three different ways Mini Leagues can be created this season:

  1. Mini Leagues can be Free - you pay no money to enter Or Paid - you each have to pay a stake to enter the league and win prize money made up all the Manager's stakes.
  2. Mini Leagues can be Public - meaning that anyone can search or join the league. Or they can be Private - which means you can only join the league if you have been sent the league PIN.
  3. Mini Leagues can be Standard format - where a Manager’s points total and league position will be determined by the accumulation of fantasy points across the entire season. Or Head to Head format - where every Game Week Managers play another Manager in a tie.

The winner is awarded 3 points in the fixture, the loser 0 and with a draw (both Managers score the same number of standard points) each Manager gets 1 point in the ‘fixture’.

Promoter Leagues

Can I remove myself from a Promoter League?

Once you've paid to enter a Promoter league, you cannot remove yourself from the league or refund your entry fee under any circumstances.

You can remove yourself from a Free Promoter league at any point up until scoring in that league starts. You can do this by going to your League Settings area.

When will the winners be decided?

Final leaderboard positions will be confirmed within 48 hrs of the competition ending for Monthly and Weekly Leagues.

For the £250k Season League this may take longer.

How many team entries can I make?

There is a maximum amount of team entries a Manager can make into all Promoter Leagues. These are:

  • £250k Season Jackpot: Maximum 10 entries
  • £15k Monthly: Maximum 10 entries
  • £10k Weekly: Maximum 5 entries

All entries are £2 but costs and entry limits are subject to change throughout the season

Cash Mini Leagues

Can I delete my Team or Mini League?

When you create a Team or Mini League you will be unable to delete them from your My Team or My Leagues list so make sure you pick your teams and leagues wisely.

You can have as many teams as you want and remember you can always search by your team name.

Cash Mini Leagues: If you incorrectly set up a cash mini league or are the only person in this league then you cannot reverse this. If you are the only person in this league then you will receive your entry fee back at the end of the Season as you will be the winner of that league.

I’m based in the Republic of Ireland, why can’t I enter a Cash Mini League?

Unfortunately due to Gambling laws, Managers based in the Republic of Ireland aren't able to create or join Cash Mini Leagues.

You are still able to enter any of our Promoter Leagues in order to win cash prizes.

Why has the prize pot of my Cash Mini League increased or decreased?

If the prize pool of your Cash Mini League has decreased, this is not because we have charged you or taken a fee.

The prize pool may decrease due to one of the following exceptional circumstances:

  • A Manager fails age verification and has their entry funds refunded and team(s) voided from any paid leagues
  • A Manager breaks competition rules and is therefore removed from the competition and has their team(s) voided from any Cash Mini Leagues

Does Dream Team make any money out of Cash Mini Leagues?

No we don't charge any fees or make any money from Cash Mini Leagues.

If the prize pool of your Cash Mini League has decreased, this is not because we have charged you or taken a fee.

The prize pool may decrease due to one of the following exceptional circumstances:

  • A Manager fails age verification and has their entry funds refunded and team(s) voided from any paid leagues
  • A Manager breaks competition rules and is therefore removed from the competition and has their team(s) voided from any Cash Mini Leagues

How are Cash Mini League prizes distributed?

Your Chairman will choose from three different prize distribution options when creating their Cash Mini League:

  1. Winner takes all: The winners takes 100% of the prize pool.
  2. Top two positions: The winner takes 80% and the second takes the remaining 20% of the prize pool.
  3. Top three positions: The winner takes 70%, the second takes 20% and the third takes the remaining 10% of the prize pool.

If the number of entrants in the league is less than the prize distribution then it will default to the ‘Winner takes all’.

How much does it cost to enter a Cash Mini League?

Your Chairman will set a stake amount when they create the league.

It will be either £5, £10, £15, £20, £25, £30, £35, £40, £45 or £50. All Managers will need to pay the same stake to enter the league.

What is a Cash Mini League?

These are new this season - unlike a free Mini League, you'll need to pay a small stake (between £5 - £50) to enter a Cash Mini League.

All of the stakes paid by the Managers will be collected and held by us, and will form a prize pool.

At the end of the season we will pay out cash prizes to the winners in the league based on the prize distribution set by the Chairman. We take or make no money doing this.

Joining and leaving Mini Leagues

I’ve been invited to a Private Mini League, but I can’t see my League invite?

This may be because you've registered with a different email address to the one the Chairman used to invite you to that league.

Please ask your Chairman to send you the League PIN and enter this in the League Hub.

If it's a Public league, ask the Chairman for the League name and you can search for it in the League Hub.

How many Mini Leagues can I join?

This season you can join as many Mini Leagues as you want - it's unlimited, as long as the league hasn't reached it's maximum size.

How do I join a Public or Private Mini League?

To join a Public Mini League just search for a league to join in the League Hub. You don't need a PIN.

To join a Private Mini League please ask the Chairman for the League PIN and enter it in the League Hub.

If you join a free league you will not have to pay anything to join.

If you join a Cash League, you will have to pay whatever the entry fee is, this is set by the chairman. Dream Team will hold the funds and distribute the prizes to the winners at the end of the season.

How do I remove myself from a Mini League?

If you're trying to remove yourself from a Mini League, the following rules apply:

Before scoring:

  • A Chairman is allowed to remove a Manager, and a Manager and a Chairman may remove their team(s) from a Free Mini League before scoring in the league has started.

You can do this by going to your League Settings area.

After Scoring - August 13th:

  • A Chairman cannot remove another Manager, and a Manager may not remove themselves from a Free Mini League after scoring in that league has started. This is not allowed as it will affect the league set up and scoring structure.
  • A Manager or Chairman cannot remove themselves or other Managers from Cash Mini Leagues once entered, before and after scoring has started. All entries into Cash Mini Leagues are non reversible and no refund of Entry Stakes will be made.

How do I remove another Manager from a Mini League?

The following rules apply for removal from Mini Leagues:

A Chairman is allowed to remove a Manager, and a Manager and a Chairman may remove their team(s) from a Free Mini League before scoring in the league has started

If you are a Chairman, to remove another Manager by going to the Members Section of your Mini League.

A Chairman cannot remove another Manager, and a Manager may not remove themselves from a Free Mini League after scoring in that league has started.

A Manager or Chairman cannot remove themselves or other Managers from Cash Mini Leagues once entered, before and after scoring has started. All entries into Cash Mini Leagues are non reversible and no refund of Entry Stakes will be made.

What’s the closing date for creating a Mini League?

You can create a Mini League at any point up until the last Game Week of the season. The last day you can create a Mini League is Sunday May 28 2017.

Can I restart a Euro 2016 Mini League?

No unfortunately you won't be able to restart a Mini League you created for the Euro 2016 competition.

Can I make a free league into a Cash Mini League?

No - but you can always create a new league, make it a Cash Mini League and invite the same Managers to play in that league instead.

I’ve created a Mini league, but want to make some changes to it, how and what can I change?

Once you've created a League here are the settings that Chairmen can change:


For a Free Mini League:

  • League name
  • Game Week start - only prior to the league starting
  • Whether it's Public or Private
  • Max Managers in the league - note that this can not be changed to a smaller number than the amount of entrants that have already joined the league - League chat
  •  
    The rest of the features MUST remain locked


    For a Cash Mini League:

  • League Name
  • Whether it's Public or Private
  • League Chat
  •

    How many Mini Leagues can I create?

    You can create as many Mini Leagues as you want - there is no limit

    How do I create a Mini League?

    You can create a Mini League by going to the 'Create League' tab in the League Hub

    Player lists

    Why doesn’t your player list have every player in it?

    We prefer not to bloat our player list with squad players with limited playing time.

    We provide you with a carefully considered list of 350 odd players to choose from.

    All are included on previous or expected game time and point scoring potential.

    Sometimes we may make a glaring omission. If that’s the case then we will add the player straight away. Feel free to suggest players to us at @dreamteamfc

    When will new players be added to the player list?

    Yes,we will continually monitor and add new players to the player list throughout the season.

    Players will be added based on their point scoring potential, regularity of first team selection and Manager demand.

    These additions usually happen on an ad hoc basis, but we’re always open to suggestions – tweet us at @dreamteamfc

    I can’t see my ranking on the Leaderboard?

    Your team points update quicker than your league ranking. Please give it 45 minutes for your position to update. If this still is an issue after midnight tonight, please get in touch with us.

    I can’t see my points or live scoring?

    From kick off on Saturday 13th August, if you can't view your points and leaderboard or are experiencing other issues regarding new game features please make sure you've updated your app to the latest version or delete and reinstall your Dream Team App. This should so the trick.

    Who decides who scores a disputed goal?

    Goalscorers are decided by the official Opta feeds we receive.

    Goalscorers will not be changed once the points have been awarded (unless it happens within 24 hours of the match) regardless of any change subsequently made by the Dubious Goals Panel.

    Why can’t I see my points from the weekend?

    This season we've changed our Game Week so it runs from Monday to Sunday.

    You're probably used to logging in on Monday to check your points from the weekend.

    But as the weekend's fixtures are the last of that Game Week, on Monday's you'll see that the new Game Week has started.

    To check out your weekend's points and previous Game Week performance just go to your team page and tab back to the previous Game Week.

    Why does the same team have different points in different leagues?

    You can enter one team into multiple leagues - and each league might have a different start time or scoring format.

    For example, if you enter your team into the £250k Season League which starts on August 13th, you may have 200 points by the 1st October.

    If you entered the same team into the £15k Monthly League in September, you will have less points for that team as it's only run from 1st September - 1st October.

    How do I score points in Dream Team?

    Players will earn point for your team the following ways:

    All players :

    • Player Rating of 7 or more: +3 points
    • Star Man: +5 points Each Goal Scored (excluding own goals): +5 points
    • Hat trick (3 or more goals): +5 points Assist: +2 points
    • Yellow Card: -1 point Red Card: -3 points
    • Penalty Takers
- Penalty Save or Miss (as defined below): -3 points

    Goalkeepers:

    • Penalty Save or Miss (as defined above): +3 points

    Goalkeepers and Defenders:

    • Clean Sheet (no goals conceded): +5 points
    • 2 Goals Conceded: -1 point
    • Each Goal Conceded Over two goals: -1 point

    I don’t think my points are correct, what should I do?

    We are generally spot on with updating points as we use data from Opta to award our individual player points.

    To check you have the right points you can:

    • Click on any individual player to view their profile. You will be able to see a breakdown of their individual match points and how they earned these.
    • Check out our Fantasy Match Centre where you can see an individual match, player stats and ratings.
    • You can also remind yourself of our How to Score rules in our How to Play section.

    Variable pricing

    Why are the variable player prices not changing?

    Variable player pricing will occur once we've collected enough data from the start of the season- this will be in a few weeks time. Hold tight!

    So what happens when I want to make transfers?

    When making transfers you only need remember one simple thing:

    You can spend the value of the players that you have transferred out plus any remaining budget you had left over from team select. If your initially buy a player for £1m and transfer him out when his value is £3m, you will have £3m added to your budget.

    So do I need to stay within £50m budget when I make a transfer?

    You will only be asked to remain within the £50m team budget when you first pick your team.

    If your team is now worth more based on good performances by your players then good for you. It's yours to spend

    It's just like stocks and shares - It's all about buying and selling a player at the right time gain advantage over others. If you think a player is about to go on a great run of form then transfer him in before his value and popularity increases. Likewise if you think a player's value will drop.

    All my individual player values now add up to more than £50m. What’s going on?

    Don't worry, that just means you are an excellent Manager and you have discovered the wonders of variable player pricing.

    Throughout the season a player's original starting value will fluctuate based on their performances.

    Play well and the value increases. Play poorly and it will decrease.

    Does my budget increase or decrease?

    The only way your budget will increase or decrease is when you transfer players in and out of your team.

    For example if you transfer a player out of your team who is worth £10m, for a player worth £8m, your budget will increase by £2m.

    What is variable player pricing and how does it work?

    Player prices do not change until the season starts.

    Each week player prices change depending on a players performance.

    If a player performs better than expected their price will increase, if a players performs poorly their price will decrease.

    All player price changes happen after the last match of the Game Week, and will update overnight on Sunday.

    Prices will remain unchanged for players who do not play in a Game Week. Budget isn't affected by changes in values to your current players.

    Player ratings

    Why can’t I see ratings for some matches?

    There are rare occasions when WhoScored are unable to provide their ratings service for a match.

    These matches will be in the early rounds of the Capital One Cup and the FA Cup. On these occasions, the player ratings and Star Man will be provided by an alternate supplier to be confirmed.

    How do I see how a player’s rating has been calculated?

    Our friends WhoScored.com have plenty of information over on their site on how a player has acheived their rating. Go say hi!

    Why does WhoScored have a different rating to what you have on Dream Team?

    WhoScored make changes and corrections to statistics long after the match has finished.

    We have to publish a result, and therefore accept WhoScored's final file 15 minutes after the match has finished.

    Our ratings will stay the same.

    Why does the ratings and Star Man sometimes change after the final whistle?

    The ratings are updated live every 30 seconds during the game. WhoScored's data providers Opta will update and adjust statistics where necessary 5 minutes after the final whistle.

    Therefore ratings, are also subject to change at anytime after the game, due to any further corrections that need to be made to the statistics.

    When will player ratings and Star Man be decided?

    A player's individual rating and Star Man will be updated live during the match every 30 seconds and this will change as the match goes on.

    The final player rating and Star Man will be finalised 15 minutes after the match has finished.

    How do I see a player rating or Star Man?

    You can see the ratings and Star Man for every match via our Fantasy Match Centre. You can also check an individual player rating via their profile.

    Does Dream Team or The Sun have any influence on the awarding of a Star Man?

    No, the rating algorithm is managed and controlled by WhoScored.com and we have no influence to alter how a player is rated or the actual algorithm.

    How do Who Scored calculate a player rating?

    WhoScored.com ratings are considered to be the most accurate, respected and well-known performance indicators in the world of football.

    It's ratings are currently used among media giants, bookmakers and football clubs. WhoScored.com ratings are based on a unique, comprehensive statistical algorithm, calculated live during the game.

    There are over 200 raw statistics included in the calculation of a player’s rating, weighted according to their influence within the game. Every event of importance is taken into account, with a positive or negative effect on ratings weighted in relation to its area on the pitch and its outcome.

    How do you award Dream Team Star Man?

    This season will see our Star Man and player ratings awarded by our partner and ratings experts WhoScored.com

    We will be using WhoScored's independent ratings algorithm to reward players with a rating out of 10.

    The highest rated player in every match will be awarded the Star Man. The algorithmm will rate a player based on individual player's performance metrics from match data.

    Void teams

    Why is a team appearing as ‘void’ in the league leaderboard?

    A team may appear as 'Void' in a league leaderboard for a number of reasons:

    The Manager may have failed to verify that they are over 18 years old and eligible to play Dream Team

    The Manager may have broken the Dream Team Game Rules Any stakes they've paid to enter will be removed, so if it's a Cash Mini League the total prize pot will reduce.

    Once a team is made void there is no way it can be re-activated or re-entered into any leagues.

    Live scoring

    What is live scoring?

    Live scoring will allow you to view your team and individual player points as the action unfolds and goals go in.

    All Managers will be able to see their team update while the matches are being played for free.

    Live scoring is based on live data that we receive from Opta. This information is constantly updated to reflect greater accuracy meaning that occasionally a score or rating will change in live.

    I’m a Club Dream Team subscriber, where can I update my payment details?

    You can update the bank or PayPal account we take your Club Dream Team subscription payments from by visiting your My Account area.

    How do I cancel my Club Dream Team subscription?

    You can cancel your Club Dream Team subscription by tapping the 'Cancel' button next to your subscription in your My Account area.

    I’m a Club Dream Team subscriber, am I eligible to win cash prizes this year?

    You'll be eligible to win prizes if you're a paying subscriber at the point you take up your free entries into our Season/Monthly leagues.

    If you want to be eligible to win prizes with more teams or in other leagues then you'll need to pay a small entry fee to make these entries.

    If you do not use your free entry by the entry deadline then you will lose your benefit.

    Can I sign up for Club Dream Team this season?

    No, due to the changes we've made to the game we're not selling Club Dream Team subscriptions this year.

    In order to be eligible to win prizes you need to pay to enter your teams into our leagues or create or a join a Cash Mini League.

    How do I claim my free entry into the Season and Monthly leagues?

    Simply enter an existing team, or pick a new team to enter into our Season and Monthly leagues, then tap 'Enter now'

    We'll recognise that you're a Club Dream Team subscriber and ask you enter you into these leagues for free. You will not be charged.

    What do I get as part of my Club Dream Team membership this year?

    If you are one of the many existing Club Dream Team subscribers then you will have access to this at no additional cost:

    Why is there an Error message when I log into my Android app

    It's possible that your phone doesn't support the new Android app. To check this out there are a couple of things you can do:


    1. Update your OS to the latest version
    2. Delete and reinstall the app


    If that doesn't work, it's likely your device doesn't support our latest Android app.


    3. In this case, to play Dream Team  type  www.dreamteamfc.com/g into your mobile browser, you'll have the same experience and you can start getting involved this Season.

    When will I receive my prize money?

    You will receive your prize money within 14 days of the scoring completing in the particular competition you have won a prize in.

    I’ve won a prize, how do I my get my prize money?

    Your prize will be automatically paid onto the card registered with your Dream Team account so make sure that:

    • You pay to enter a league with a card that you want to win your winnings onto.
    • Your card details are up to date and have not expired - this will cause a delay in getting your winnings.

    If you are a Club Dream Team subscriber who has won a prize against one of the free entries you received as part of your existing subscription - one our team will be in touch within 28 days to arrange payment.

    Who is eligible to win prizes?

    You are eligible to win prizes against any active teams that you have successfully paid to enter into Promoter or Cash Mini Leagues, and which haven't been since removed, voided or refunded.

    You are also eligible to win prizes if you are a Club Dream Team subscriber who has won a prize against one of the free entries you received as part of your existing subscription.

    I’ve failed age verification, can I still win prizes in the leagues I’ve entered?

    If you send us I.D. and successfully prove that you are over 18 in under 14 days of first paying to enter a league, we should be able to get you and your teams back into the game and be eligible to win prizes.

    If you contact us to pass age verification after this, we will have removed your teams from actively playing in any leagues, and they will appear as 'void' in the leaderboards.

    You will receive a refund for all league entries. If you pass age verification after you've had your teams voided and refunds processed, you will need to pay to re-enter teams into any leagues.

    Self exclusion and time-outs

    I feel like I need a break from playing Dream Team, what should I do?

    Playing Dream Team should be a fun hobby and great way to add excitement to football.

    If at any time you feel like you're spending too much time or money on Dream Team, or want to restrict your access to the game you can self-exclude or take a time-out.

    We provide a voluntary self-exclusion and time-out process which lets you close your account for a minimum period of time. To self-exclude or take a time-out, please visit the Self Exclusion and Timeout section in the Settings area.
