It’s a marathon not a sprint and all that.
But it’s still some feat to sit pretty at the top of the Dream Team leaderboard after the first month.
Currently in the doldrums of the first international break of the season, we thought we’d reach out to our current leader.
That man is Paul Ensinger, Liverpool fan and seasoned Dream Team player.
Paul says he’s played the game since its inception back in 1993 and has finished as high as 26th down the years.
“It’s great to be at the top obviously, but there’s a long way to go,” he told us.
“It’s just a shame it’s not April.
“International breaks might get in the way but on this occasion it allowed me to stay top for an extra week!”
Reds supporter Paul has an impressive six-point cushion at the top of the standings after a truly stunning August.
He capitalised heavily on Wolves’ involvement in the Europa League qualifiers, with both Willy Boly and Raul Jimenez recording big points totals.
Jimenez is eighth in the points rankings while no player has more 7+ ratings than Boly, despite his red card at Everton.
“Wolves players had two extra matches on most teams,” he added.
“So last month by bringing in a couple really helped me get extra points.
“I am happy with the majority of my team and will probably keep my September transfers available for any injuries.”
With the return of the Champions League and Europa League, September is when Dream Team really starts to hot up.
So does Paul think there’s a player/ players who everyone needs to get ahead of the game?
“As a Liverpool fan I have to stay true to my boys,” he said.
“For me [Mo] Salah and [Sadio] Mane will by my star players every week.”
Will Paul reign supreme again in September? Or will the chasing pack catch up?
