We have a late arrival to the fantasy football party.
Like that guy who rocks up well past midnight, insistent the night has still got legs while everyone else is already envisaging tucking into their lamb doner.
The difference for Naby Keita is Liverpool’s season is far from fading, so his recent form has come at just the right time.
There was a real hubbub about the Guinean’s arrival for £55m last summer after he dominated the Bundesliga for a couple of seasons.
Keita was branded a hybrid of N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, tough in the tackle yet boasting the vision to pick a pass.
But, for one reason or another, it hasn’t quite happened for him this season.
Until the last week, Keita had just one solitary assist in all competitions and had fallen down Jurgen Klopp’s midfield pecking order.
But a lot can change in a week.
Liverpool fans have been crying out for Keita to get a consistent run in the team and he’s duly delivered in their last two games.
The 24-year-old bagged a vital equaliser at Southampton last Friday night – his first Reds goal – which stirred a momentous comeback.
And then four days later he was at it again, scoring the opener as Liverpool beat Porto 2-0 in their Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Keita’s ineffectiveness has seen his price plummet from £3.0m back in August to a paltry £1.3m now.
But he has doubled his points tally for the season in the last week alone and is leading the scorer in Game Week 32 with 21 points.
Liverpool have at least six games left in all competitions and play the likes of Cardiff and Huddersfield in the coming weeks. It could be eight if they finish the job against Porto next week.
There’s nothing like a juicy in-form player for the run-in and, given his bargain price, Keita could be your man.
Welcome to Dream Team, Naby, we’ve been expecting you…
