Ederson vs Alisson

Alisson might start over Ederson in the national team but it’s the Man City keeper who we’re giving the nod on Dream Team.

Although Liverpool have kept more Premier League clean sheets (13) than any other team this season, Ederson still reflects better value for money, costing just £3.7m compared to his countryman (£4.6m).

Those extra funds might prove crucial in being able to strengthen in areas of the pitch where points are more easy to come by.

Andy Robertson vs Marcos Alonso

Catch him if you can

In previous seasons Alonso would have laughed off any competition for his crown of the most effective left-back on Dream Team but has been dethroned this season by an impressive Robertson.

The Liverpool man is out scoring the Spaniard by 24 points and despite costing £0.2m more than his rival, Robertson is well worth the extra investment.

Alonso’s poor form of late might be testing the patience of Maurizio Sarri and could open the door for Emerson to take his spot as Chelsea’s first choice left-back.

Paul Pogba vs Leroy Sane

Both Pogba and Sane have recovered after indifferent starts to the season but it’s the Frenchman who we’re backing to continue his good form into February.

Just two points separate the pair as things stands, with Sane holding a slight advantage over his Manchester rival but Pogba’s goal involvement since Ole Gunnar Solskjær took the reins at Man United has convinced us that he’s worth his £5.4m price tag.

The Frenchman is also £0.2m cheaper than Sane and therefore make sense for those working on a tight budget.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang vs Sergio Aguero

One half of Arsenal’s deadly duo

With Harry Kane out until March there’s a sizeable gap in your strikeforce, right? Well, we recommend filling that with Aubameyang.

The Gunners’ talisman is second only to Mo Salah in terms of Premier League goals this season and is 22 points ahead of Aguero in the Dream Team scoring charts.

The Argentinian has been a fantasy football favourite over the years but Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy has put the Argentinian’s starting berth under threat from Gabriel Jesus, whereas Aubameyang is guaranteed starter for Arsenal.
