What is the Dream Team XI of the Season so far?

We’re taking a step back from the joys of the Premier League and fantasy football this week, as we get ready for another international break.

So while Gareth Southgate’s getting ready for England’s upcoming games, we’re taking a good old look at the very best players on offer for your Dream Team so far this season.

As you probably know by now, Eden Hazard has been the star of the show, topping our points chart with an eye-watering 121 points.

And he’s joined by a few other fantasy football heroes in our tasty line-up.

Man City’s mighty charge to a second-successive Premier League title is coming along rather nicely, isn’t it?

With 32 points, a barrel-load of goals scored and only five conceded, Pep Guardiola’s boys are topping the table in more ways than one.

Their exciting and free-flowing attacking play seemingly starts at the back, with goalkeeper Ederson’s handy ball-playing skills aiding their possession-based style.

He even notched an assist earlier in the season, setting-up Sergio Aguero in City’s 6-1 win over Huddersfield.

Marcos Alonso – 81 points

Fantasy football must-have

Having Alonso in your Dream Team just makes sense.

The attacking wing-back has been a fantasy football favourite in recent years and this season is no different.

He’s been involved in four goals for Chelsea so far and is once again rubbing shoulders with the best points-scoring defenders on the game.

Aymeric Laporte – 89 points

Pep’s favourite

You really need to have this guy in your Dream Team.

Laporte has been simply sensational, currently leading the way in terms of points scored for a defender.

He’s also immune to Guardiola’s rotation policy, having played in every minute of every game of City’s Premier League campaign this season.

He’s a handy goalscorer too, netting twice in all competitions.

Andrew Robertson – 77 points

Robertson was one of the surprise-packages of Liverpool’s excellent run-out in the Champions League last term.

And he’s continued that form into their current campaign, nailing down the left-back position in the Reds’ defence and proving to be a tasty Dream Team addition in the process.

What’s more, his reasonable price – he’s valued at just £4.0m on Dream Team at the moment – and consistent performances have made him a popular pick among fantasy football fans.

Eden Hazard – 121 points

Chelsea’s start to life under Maurizio Sarri has been elegantly efficient, to say the least.

Unbeaten since their Community Shield defeat at the very start of the season, they also boast some of the finest passing-play around.

Key to their brilliant campaign has been Hazard, who’s notched seven goals and four assists in the top-flight to lead the way in Dream Team points scored.

Same old City, same old Silva.

We tipped the Spanish wizard to be one of the players to make a difference in the Manchester derby at the weekend, and he certainly didn’t let us down.

Not only is the midfielder reinforcing his position as one of the finest in the Premier League era, he’s becoming a Dream Team must-have too.

Willian – 80 points

It’s not been all about Hazard for Chelsea, with Willian currently sitting ninth in the overall points standings.

He’s especially enjoyed himself in the Europa League this season, earning himself two Star Man awards in four appearances.

Better still, he’s currently cheaper than the likes of Leroy Sane (£4.6m) and Marko Arnautovic (£4.9m) but has more points than both.

Raheem Sterling – 95 points

Is Raheem Sterling the best English player in the world right now?

His world class performance against Shakhtar Donetsk last week has been backed-up by a teasing display against Man United on Sunday.

And who can forget his two goals against Spain in England’s run out in Seville a month ago?

Sergio Aguero – 89 points

As slick as ever from Aguero

As slick as ever from Aguero

We’re keen to see Aguero push on this season and finally secure that elusive Premier League Golden Boot gong.

The City hitman has been unfortunate in the past not to take home the top-scorer award, but this could really be his year.

He’s currently the top of the lot in the Premier League with eight goals and will be keen to keep up the good work after the international break, we’re sure.

Harry Kane – 95 points

Raining goals

It’s not exactly been a vintage start to the season for Kane, but even so he’s netted six times already and remains a firm Dream Team star.

Nearly half of you (49.3%) have the picked the England skipper for your Dream Team line-ups, making him the third-most popular player on the game right now.

Mohamed Salah – 83 points

Egyptian King

He was the very definition of perfection last season, but Salah’s not had it all his own way this time around, has he?

83 Dream Team points is still a tasty haul, but his form has been far from the devastatingly efficient we saw from his this time last year.

Perhaps we’re being overly harsh? He’s made our Team of the Season, after all.
