So what do you need to consider after the weekend’s action?
1 The end of European football
Last week brought the Champions League and Europa League group phases to an end, temporarily closing the competitions until February.
That means the fantasy football focus can turn away from the top six clubs, with other Premier League players playing just as regularly as the cream of the crop.
So who is the most effective player outside the traditional heavyweight clubs?
Well there’s not a single name outside the top six clubs inside the top 27 performing players on Dream Team, with Burnley’s James Tarkwoski (81 points) the best of the rest.
Then come Watford star man Richarlison (80) and the in-form Wayne Rooney (79), who have all scored more points than the likes of Christian Eriksen and Alexis Sanchez.
So with the main focus now on the league and domestic cup competitions, there are plenty of other wildcard options you should turn to.
2 The Liverpool conundrum
Liverpool have goals coming out of their ears at the moment – only predicting the Reds’ starting line up is proving rather difficult.
Jurgen Klopp rang the changes for the sixth game in succession against Everton, perhaps naively given Everton somehow emerged from Anfield with an unlikely point.
Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are three of the top seven Dream Team points scorers, but if they’re not playing picking them isn’t as worthwhile.
The Reds though face a very favourable fixture list in December, taking on West Brom, Bournemouth, Swansea and Leicester before the start of the new year.
3 Watford and Crystal Palace in focus
The congested Christmas fixture list means there’s games coming thick and fast over the coming weeks, so you need to consider who has the easier schedules.
Watford definitely fall into that category, with the Hornets taking on Crystal Palace, Huddersfield, Brighton and Leicester.
That means the likes of Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucoure might be worth a punt.
And Crystal Palace may be bottom but games against Leicester and Swansea may provide the platform to continue their mini-recovery under Roy Hodgson.
4 Salah and Kane extend their lead
This season is rapidly becoming a two-horse race for the Dream Team top scorer mantel, with Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane now over 40 points clear of the chasing pack.
And they keep scoring at a ridiculous rate too.
Both players picked up another 13 points this week, meaning Salah’s three-point lead over Kane remained intact.
They still remain well short of Romelu Lukaku in the most-picked standings though – something that may change over the coming weeks.
5 Stone cold Charlie Austin
What a difference being fit and firing makes.
Charlie Austin is beginning to look like the striker who very nearly single-handedly kept QPR in the Premier League a few seasons ago.
The Southampton striker scored for the third time in four games against Arsenal and eight goals in his last 11 starts too.
He’s deservedly keeping the likes of Manolo Gabbiadini and Shane Long out of the side and at just £1.9m is an absolute billy bargain.
