We’ve been here before with Liverpool, haven’t we?
The only difference on this occasion is Reds fans will be crying into their pillows tonight as opposed to toasting the greatest comeback in Champions League history.
That’s because Liverpool – in a similar vain to their remarkable Istanbul heroics of 2005 – somehow saw a 3-0 half time lead turn into a 3-3 full time result.
The Reds were cantering into the last 16 at the break after two goals from Roberto Firmino and a clever header from Sadio Mane.
But that’s when the visitors put their feet up and got complacent.
Alberto Moreno has been brilliantly recently but he had a horror show against his former club after half time.
Firstly he conceded the free kick for which Sevilla grabbed one back, and then was adjudged to have fouled Wissam Ben Yedder inside the penalty area allowing the striker to score again.
And just as Jurgen Klopp’s side looked to have weathered the storm, Guido Pizarro pounced at a corner to make it 3-3 in injury time.
