Fantasy football is officially back on the agenda.

And after an international break that at one stage produced a grand total of seven 0-0 draws in a row, I think it’s fair to say we’ve all let out a large sigh of relief.

Well, we can reveal, that Joe Gomez is the most popular bargain of Game Week 12.

The Liverpool centre-back has seen a substantial amount of movement and transfers in over the last few days ahead of their clash with Southampton.

Gomez made his England debut against Germany last Friday and was then awarded the Man of the Match award against Brazil after nullifying the threat of Neymar and Gabriel Jesus.

Not bad for a guy whose career looked in doubt after a serious cruciate ligament injury three years ago.

Undaunted against the best in the world

Gomez has interchanged with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right back for the Reds this season but his performances for England suggest a regular starting berth could be on the horizon.

The 20-year-old is even being tipped for a centre-back role, particularly given his success there for England and Dejan Lovren’s struggles for form and fitness.

At £2.1m, he’s a much cheaper option than other more headline defenders out there too.

Could Gomez be your fantasy football saviour?
