In addition, the Promoter reserves the right to rename the team in the name of the entrant or to apply such other name as the Promoter deems appropriate.
4.3 HOW TO SCORE
For each of the competitions the scoring remains the same as last season.
This season the player ratings and the Star Man award will be provided by an independent ratings provider WHOSCORED.COM using their independent system of rating players.
The scoring system will remain unchanged and Dream Team points will be awarded as follows:
All players
Player Rating of 7 or more: +3 points
Star Man: +5 points
Each Goal Scored (excluding own goals): +5 points
Hat trick (3 or more goals): +5 points
Assist: +2 points
Yellow Card: -1 point
Red Card: -3 points
Penalty Takers
Penalty Save or Miss (as defined below): -3 points
Save or Miss is defined as a goal not being scored directly from the penalty spot. Penalty Save or Miss points will be awarded even if a goal is subsequently scored (e.g. from open play after the ball rebounds from the goalkeeper; or if the player deliberately passes from the ball direct from the penalty kick).
Two yellow cards leading to a red card will score as one red card in the Game i.e. 3 points.
Substitutes who do not play at any time in an Eligible Match but are cautioned while ‘on the bench’ will not be deducted points in the Game. Deductions will apply if that player subsequently plays any part in that Eligible Match. Points deducted in the Game for Yellow and Red Cards that are subsequently overruled will not be reinstated in the Game.
The Promoter will use the ‘OPTA Defined Assists’ to confirm assist points allocations.
Player ratings of 7 and above and Star Man points will be decided based on match player statistics gathered by OPTA and confirmed by the Promoter. These statistics cover over 200 different playing criteria and approaching 2,000 measurements per game. These will be interpreted by WHOSCORED.COM throughout the match. The Star Man will be awarded to the player with the highest player rating. In the few cases where OPTA and or WHOSCORED.COM statistics are not available the rating will be provided manually as close as possible to those criteria used by these agencies and decided by the Promoter at its sole discretion.
Goalkeepers
Penalty Save or Miss (as defined above): +3 points
Goalkeepers and Defenders
Clean Sheet (no goals conceded): +5 points
2 Goals Conceded: 1 point
Each Goal Conceded Over two goals: -1 point
Substitutes who come on during an Eligible Match will be awarded and deducted points as if they had played for the full match. Players substituted off will be awarded and deducted points and will continue to be awarded and deducted points as if they had played the full match.
Players transferred or loaned from one Premier League club to another Premier League club will continue to score points for the purposes of the Game and will be considered to be an Eligible Player at the new Premier League club. Any Eligible Player transferred from one Premier League club to a non Premier League club will have his points total frozen in the Game and will only resume scoring in the Game should he rejoin a Premier League club.
The scoring of the Game will be made on the final event files of an Eligible Match received from OPTA, together with the ratings and Star Man awards received from WHOSCORED.COM (or where they do not supply it for any reason their appointed replacement agency). This generally occurs within 15 minutes of the final whistle of each Eligible Match but may be later.
Any changes to the Eligible Player data subsequent to the processing of these files will not be taken into account. For these reasons and of timing, the decisions of the official ‘Dubious Goals Panel’ will not be taken into account. These How to Score rules remain the same for matches involving extra time (e.g. for a midfielder, goalkeeper or a defender to score clean sheet points in a match involving extra time, their team must not have conceded any goals by the end of that extra time). Penalty shootouts do not count. Replays are counted as separate matches which have their own points scoring potential.
If any Eligible Match is abandoned for any reason then that Eligible Match will cease to be treated as an Eligible Match for the purposes of the Game. If the match is replayed then the replay will be treated as an Eligible Match. If an Eligible Match is completed and then a governing body subsequently determines that part of the Eligible Match is to be replayed only the initial match and the not the replayed portion will be deemed an Eligible Match.
The decision of the Promoter in all points scoring matters shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4.4 SCORING UPDATES
Full scoring including player ratings and Star Men points for Eligible Matches will provisionally be published on the Website and the App as soon as possible after each Eligible Match. Points will be confirmed on the day of each Eligible Match. Points updates will always be carried out as promptly as possible, however it may not always be possible to finish points updates by the times stated.
The Promoter reserves the right to at any point, on or before 23:59:59 on the same day of the Eligible Match, to update points, player ratings and the Star Man award.
Points which are calculated based on information supplied from OPTA and WHOSCORED.COM will with best endeavors be finalised and locked in based on the live information received by the Promoter as at 15.00 minutes after the final whistle of the relevant Eligible Match.
Any subsequent corrections, changes and/or updates to that information from OPTA or WHOSCORED.COM after the Promoter has finalised the points will not be used in the points calculation and there will be no amendments to the scores of any entrants to the Game.
PART 5. PLAYER VALUES AND VARIABLE PLAYER PRICING
The Promoter’s panel of football experts has chosen the players offered for selection, but their inclusion of player valuations are not necessarily indicative of ability or points scoring potential. We may introduce new Eligible Players at any time throughout the season.
This season Dream Team are introducing Variable Player Pricing where each Game Week after the Sunday Eligible Matches have finished the Promoters will evaluate each Eligible Player’s performance and calculate a new value (increase, decrease, unchanged).
For example, if you transfer out a player who has increased in value since you purchased him you will be able to transfer in a new player of equal value or less. Similarly if you transfer out a player who has decreased in value since you purchased him then you can only transfer in a player of equal value or less unless you have any spare unspent money in your player budget.
On the Monday of each Game Week we will update the value of your team’s players and show this in your team.
The Promoter does not guarantee to enter into any correspondence relating to Variable Player Pricing.
Variable Player Pricing will not be applied following Game Week 1 and Game Week 2 of the season.
PART 6. GAME WEEKS, TRANSFERS AND PLAYER LOCKING
This season Managers will be able make up to a maximum of three transfers to their team during each calendar month. Any transfer made to a team will take immediate effect and start scoring from the transferred in player’s next match.
Any transfer that is made can be reversed providing that the Football club that both players involved in the transfer belong to, have not played in the current Game Week (Monday to Sunday).
A Manager will not be able to transfer a player in or out if the Football club that player plays for has already played in that Game Week. They will have to wait until the next Game Week starts to process that transfer. See below for more information:
The season is split up into Game Weeks
The season is split up into Game Weeks
A Game Week starts at 00:00:01 on a Monday and ends at 23:59:59 on the following Sunday.
Scoring will commence of the first game played of any Game Week, and end after the last game played on any Game Week.
If you wish to make a transfer of a player out of your team and either that player’s Club, or the Club of the player you’re trying to transfer in, have not played an Eligible Match in that Game Week, then you may do so.
If any player’s Club have played an Eligible Match in that Game Week then they are ‘locked’ and cannot be moved in or out until the final match of the Game Week has ended.
The price of a player is as updated at the beginning of that Game Week by the Variable Player Pricing policy.
Any teams that are completed without the full quota of 11 players will start to score points from the next Eligible Match. There will be no transfers available to transfer in or out of the team until it is completed with a full 11 players. Once the team is complete, three transfers will be made available.
Regardless of the Game Week you can make a total of three transfers in any calendar month.
There will be no additional transfer allowance for the month of June, but Managers will be able to use their May allowance of three transfers up until kick off of the Champions League final on 3 June 2017.
All transfers are free of charge.
With the change to three transfers per calendar month there are no Emergency Transfers this season.
Any transfers that are left unused at the end of any calendar month will not be carried over to the following month (except for May above). Therefore a team will never have more than three transfers available.
PART 7. LEAGUE LEADERBOARDS AND MINI LEAGUES
7.1 LEAGUE LEADERBOARDS
This season there will be an overall leaderboard, which lists the position of all the free and pay to play Managers in the Game, and there will be individual leaderboards for each paid and free Promoter League and Mini League. Each league leaderboard will feature all the current teams in that League.
Your position in a published leaderboard at the end of any competition is not an indication you have won any cash prize. The Promoters will need to perform a series of checks before declaring any winners.
7.2 MINI LEAGUES
Managers will be able to create and join free or Cash Mini League at any point in the season. Once successfully registered for the Game, you have the option to become a Mini League Chairman or to join an existing Mini League. Creating or joining Mini Leagues is described in Part 8.4.
7.3 TYPES OF MINI LEAGUE
This season we have expanded the kinds of Mini League we offer:
Chairmen can create either a Public or Private Mini League, where:
A Public Mini League is one created by a Chairman that any Manager can join. Public leagues do not require a PIN to enter and can be found via a search facility in the League Hub.
A Private Mini League is one created by a Chairman that a Manager can join only if invited to do so by a Chairman who issues a unique PIN number for that Mini League.
Chairmen can create either a Free or Cash Mini Leagues where:
A Free Mini League, where no payment to the Promoter is required to join.
A Cash Mini League, where payment is required to join:
The Entry Stakes will be held by Dream Team and then distributed to league winners at the end of the season.
The Entry Stake is determined by the Chairman and must be a multiple of five pounds between £5 and £50.
Note that when you play in Cash Mini Leagues, you are contracting with the Promoter and not entering into contracts with the other Managers.
You will not be able to enter or create a Cash Mini League if you’re located in The Republic of Ireland.
Chairmen can also choose the format of their Mini League:
Standard is the normal way Mini Leagues are run, where Managers’ teams are ranked against each other based on points they accumulate across the duration of the league.
Head to Head is where two Managers of a Mini League play against each other (the ‘fixture’ selected randomly in rotation by the Promoters) based upon Classic standard scoring. The winner is awarded three points in the fixture, the loser no points, and each Manager is awarded one point in the event of a draw (when both Managers score the same number of standard points).
If there is an odd number of Managers belonging to a Head to Head Mini League then the remaining Manager that Game Week will receive a bye and be awarded one point. The fixtures are randomly generated and depending on the amount of teams in your league, each team may receive an uneven number of byes.
7.4 CREATING CLASSIC COMPETITION, SEASON LONG MINI LEAGUES
The following rules apply:
There is no limit to the number of Mini Leagues a Chairman can create.
There is no limit to the number of Mini Leagues a Manager can join.
A Chairman can create a Mini League up until the start of the last Game Week of the season.
A Manager can enter up to five teams in any Mini League
The Mini League finishing date is after the final Eligible Match of the season, usually the Champions League Final scheduled for 3 June 2017.
If you become a Mini League Chairman you will need to set the:
Mini League name: The rules regarding suitability of Mini League names are the same as those for individual teams in the Game.
Mini League start round:This has to be the start of a particular Game Week and can be any Game Week from Game Week 1 up until the penultimate Game Week of the season Game Week 38.
Mini League format: Standard or Head to Head as described above
Mini League privacy setting:Public or Private as described above.
Maximum number of team entries into your Mini League: If it’s a Private Cash League, the maximum number for Mini Leagues is determined by the Entry Stake. The maximum payout is £5,000 so if your Entry Stake is £50 per team then the maximum team League size is 100, if the Entry Stake is £25 then the maximum is 200. Where the Mini League is a Head to Head league the maximum number of teams is 40 due to the number of weeks in the season.
If the Mini League is a Cash Mini League then the Chairman will also need to set:
-The Entry Stake for each Manager who joins the Mini League:Entry stakes can be £5, £10, £15, £20, £25, £30, £35, £40, £45 or £50.
– How the prizes of the league are to be distributed:There are three options:
Winner takes all: The winners takes 100%
Top two positions: The winner takes 80% and the second takes the remaining 20%
Top three positions: The winner takes 70%, the second takes 20% and the third takes the remaining 10%.
If the number of entrants in the league is less than the prize distribution (e.g. there are two entrants, but the prize distribution is set to ‘Top three positions’) then the prize distribution will default to the ‘Winner takes all’.
Note that in order to create a Cash Mini League, a Chairman must first pay to enter their own team into the League for the League to start.
7.5 JOINING OR LEAVING A CLASSIC COMPETITION, SEASON LONG MINI LEAGUE
Any Manager once successfully registered may join a Public Mini League without any invitation. They can do so via the search facility available on the site. No PIN is necessary.
To join a Private Mini League you will need to be invited by the Chairman and be issued with the unique PIN of that Mini League.
Due to gambling licence laws, you will not be able to enter or create a Cash Mini League if based in the Republic of Ireland.
The following rules apply to removal of Managers from Mini Leagues:
A Chairman is allowed to remove a Manager, and a Chairman and Manager may remove themselves from a Free Mini Leaguebefore scoring in the league has started.
A Chairman cannot remove another Manager, and a Manager may not remove themselves from a Free Mini Leagueafter scoring in that league has started. This is not allowed as it will affect the league set up and scoring structure.
A Manager or Chairman cannot remove themselves or other Managers from Cash Mini Leagues once entered, before and after scoring has started. All entries into Cash Mini Leagues are non reversible and no refunds of Entry Stakes will be made.
If for any reason the Promoters decide to terminate a Cash League or Leagues at any point in the season then all Entry Stakes for all Managers in that Cash League will be refunded into the bank account linked to the credit or debit card you used to make your payment to enter that Cash League. (See 11.1)
The Promoters reserve the right to close entry to a Mini League or Leagues at any point in the season.
7.6 WEEKLY COMPETITION MINI LEAGUES
The following rules apply for Weekly Leagues:
There is only one type of format available within a Weekly Mini League and that is Head to Head.
Managers can only create Free Mini Leagues there are no Cash Mini Leagues in the Weekly Competition.
Scoring starts in the Game Week chosen by the Chairman.
The maximum number of entries a Manager can have in any one Weekly Mini League is one.
A Chairman can create a Mini League up until the start of the second to last Game Week of the season.
There is a Mini League finishing date; after the final Eligible Match of the season, usually the Champions League Final scheduled for 3 June 2017.
PART 8. THE WEEKLY COMPETITION
As well as our Classic Competition format, there is also our new Weekender Competition.
Here Managers have to pick a team of just seven players without any limit on their total value or the Premier clubs they belong to.
The Weekender Competition runs over eligible matches taking place on Saturday and Sunday only each Game Weekend from 15 October 2016 through to May 2017 excluding International weeks and others at the Promoter’s discretion. There are not Game Weekends every weekend. Please refer to the site for actual Game Weekends.
Entry opens every Monday at the start of a Game Week at 09:00.01 and closes at kick off of the first Eligible Match of the Weekend.
Your Weekly team must consist of SEVEN eligible players with;
A goalkeeper
Two defenders
Two midfielders
Two strikers
There is no budget to work to. You may select any value of player regardless of their stated value for that Game Weekend
There is no limit to the number of eligible players from one club if you wish in any Game Weekend you can choose all seven players from your favourite club.
Each week you enter you can choose a different set of eligible players for your team or create a brand new team. Each weekend your team score will be set back to zero.
As the Promoters may introduce new Eligible Players at any time in the season it is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that their selections are from the complete list of Eligible players each week.
Rules for Team names are as for the Classic Competition.
Managers are able to edit their team line once scoring has been completed on Sunday night and up until kick off of the first Eligible Match of the next Game Weekend. All teams are locked for the weekend until scoring is complete.
Scoring of Eligible Players in all Weekender Competitions will be as that for the Classic Competition.
Normally there are nine or 10 Eligible matches that take place on a Saturday or Sunday. If there are less than six Eligible matches that occur on these days, either through postponement or abandonment of fixtures or lack of fixtures due to Cup activity then that Weekly League Competition will be void and all entry fees made will be transferred to an equivalent entry into the following Game Week Weekly Competition. It is up to the entrant to choose any new Eligible Players for their entries in that competition.
If an Eligible Player does not participate for any reason in the scheduled Eligible Matches in any Weekender League competition then he will score zero points.

If any winner is later found to be ineligible to win any prize for any reason, then the winner must return prize money back to the Promoter within 14 days of its request. If the Promoter has not yet paid such a prize then it will be forfeited and no winnings will be payable to the ineligible entrant under any circumstances. All amounts will be paid in British Pounds Sterling. If your bank account is in a different currency (e.g. Euros) the prize amount may differ to the amount stated due to the then current conversion rate offered by your bank and may be subject to conversion fees (these are both outside of the control of the Promoter and the Promoter cannot be held responsible for any discrepancies or fees).
