Manchester residents are set to be scared witless this Halloween.
Local youths plan to dress up as Romelu Lukaku’s first touch before venturing out to terrify neighbours through ‘trick-or-treating’.
Many Mancunians are already calling the costume idea the ‘scariest of all time’.
Police have advised anyone dressed up as the Belgian’s touch to avoid visiting the elderly, or those with a nervous disposition.
There are genuine fears that some Old Trafford season-ticket holders may go into shock if they come face-to-face with their biggest fear.
Lee Satchell, a huge Man United fan from London, is believed to have thought up the idea.
“I just so happened to be watching montage of Lukaku’s first touches late at night when I was all alone in the house,” he said.
“It was scarring, mortifying… mental torture I’d call it.
“I didn’t sleep a wink for the next three days.
“I kept imaging Lukaku lurking in the corner of my room, a five-yard pass cannoning off his shin and out for a throw-in.
“It was then I realised I had discovered the perfect Halloween costume.
“Me and my mates are going to trick-or-treat the Lowry Hotel, see if we can make Jose pass out through fear.”
In other news, some north Londoners have dressed up as ‘new signings’ in a bid to scare Spurs chairman Daniel Levy…
