Paul Pogba admits bizarre penalty technique is designed purely to annoy Graeme Souness

Paul Pogba could take penalties normally but he prefers to trigger Graeme Souness

Paul Pogba has admitted cooking up a bizarre penalty technique purely to annoy Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness.

The Frenchman missed his second penalty of the season, but it was the manner in which he took the spot kick, complete with 26 steps, that drew criticism from Souness.

Far from being discouraged, sources close to Pogba claim the 25-year-old is delighted to have boiled Souness’ piss once again.

Lee Satchell, who claims he once met Pogba in a barber, explained: “Pogba isn’t an idiot. He knows he could step up normally and avoid a load of stick.

“But the chance to send Souness loopy is once he just can’t pass up. He’s been living in Souness’ head rent free ever since he joined United.

“Souness has become numb to Pogba’s hair, so Paul knew he had to come up with something fresh to spin him out.

“He started wearing pink boots, but that didn’t really have the desired impact.

“So now he’s started taking a 26-step penalty. The boys made a bet with him. If he took a penalty in the same time Usain Bolt ran the 100m they would egg Mourinho’s car.

“So now everyone’s happy. Except Souness. And Mourinho.”
