WhatsApp have confirmed they are changing their GOAT emoji to a picture of Lionel Messi.
Representatives from the instant messaging service first discussed the idea after the Barcelona maestro scored his 600th career goal a couple of weeks ago.
And after watching Messi destroy Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday night, they have decided to progress with the switch.
Messi proved yet again he was indeed the greatest of all time with a man of the match display, scoring twice and assisting another.
WhatsApp emoji correspondent Lee Satchell said: “There’s simply no doubt anymore that Messi is the GOAT.
“From tomorrow morning you’ll be able to find his little face in between the pig and that weird sheep thing in the ‘Animals & Nature’ section of your WhatsApp emojis.
“It’s already become my favourite, just ahead of the moon face and the salsa dancer.”
Satchell then confirmed WhatsApp are looking at replacing the pharaoh emoji with Mo Salah and the ghost emoji with Mesut Ozil.
