Pep Guardiola will use goalkeeper Ederson outfield when Man City take on Leicester City in the League Cup quarter-final on Tuesday.
Guardiola was convinced after watching Ederson pass Spurs off the park at the weekend.
The 24-year-old made more passes than Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen as he continues to redefine what being a goalkeeper actually means.

Lee Satchell, an unofficial spokesman for City, explained: “Pep doesn’t really have an option.
“The lads already call Ederson the ‘Brazilian Paul Scholes’ in training so it was only a matter of time before he was given a trot outfield.
“He’s threatened to start shooting from goal kicks if he wasn’t given a chance to show what he could do.
“With Brazil’s lack of midfield options he thinks he’s got a shot of making their World Cup squad.
“Honestly, you should see him in training. He doesn’t even bring gloves in any more. The lad could land a golf ball on a grain of rice with his left foot.
“He’s going to be on set pieces as well. And corners. I wouldn’t be surprised if he bags a hat-trick against Leicester.”
